INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Inspection of Shipment
After unpacking, check thoroughly for any damage which may have occurred in transit. Claims
should be filed immediately with the transportation company. The warranty does not cover
damage that occurs in transit, or damage caused by abuse, or consequential damage due to the
operation of this machine, since it is beyond our control (reference warranty in back of manual).

Model Description
5300: Nacho Cheese Dispenser with 3 dispense buttons for small, large, and manual
dispense settings.

Setup
This unit has been tested at the factory.
1. Remove all packaging and tape prior to operation.
2. lace unit on a sturdy, level base for use.
3. If decals need to be installed, reference the Decal Installation section.
4. After setup, the unit should be cleaned prior to use (see Care and Cleaning section of
this manual).

Electrical Requirements
The following power supply must be provided:
5300: 120 V~, 225 Watts, 60 Hz.

A certified electrician must furnish sufficient power for proper machine operation and install any
supplied receptacle. We recommend this equipment be on a dedicated and protected circuit.
Failure to wire properly will void the warranty and may result in damage to the machine. It is Gold
Medal roducts Co.’s recommendation that this machine be plugged directly into a wall outlet. The
use of extension cords is not recommended due to safety concerns, and may cause sacrificed
and/or reduced performance. Make sure cord is located to prevent a trip hazard or unit upset.
Before You Plug In Machine
1. Make sure all machine switches are OFF before plugging equipment into receptacle.
2. Make sure wall outlet can accept the grounded plugs (where applicable) on the power
supply cord.
3. The wall outlet must have the proper polarity. If in doubt, have a competent
electrician inspect the outlet and correct if necessary.
4. DO NOT use a grounded to un-grounded receptacle adapter (where applicable).
5. Install unit in a level position.
CAUTION
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Gold Medal Products Co.,
its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Decal Installation
Decal Installation Instructions
Follow the instructions below to install decals packed separately for a Nacho Cheese Dispenser
(if applicable). Unit must be off, unplugged, and allowed to cool before attempting installation.
General images are shown for reference purposes only (decals may vary by unit).
Items Needed fo Installation:
•Set of Decals - for door, right and left panels, rear panel, and bottom panel (if applicable).
•Gold Medal Watchdog Glass Cleaner (Item No. 2588) or a non-ammonia type glass cleaner.
•lastic squeegee, medium size applicator (type used for Bondo
®
filler).
For best results, check decal alignment often
during installation.
Step 1: Hold decal up to mounting surface to
determine decal placement.
Step 2: Apply glass cleaner to “wet” the surface
where decal is to be placed (Figure A). Do not
wipe the glass cleane off.

backing.
Align Decal
at the top.
Step 3: eel paper backing down from top

Do not emove the
enti e pape backing all at once.
Align decal at the top, then place on unit.
Step 4: Use a plastic squeegee to press top of
decal to unit. Rub squeegee back and forth
across the decal to work any trapped air
bubbles and excess spray toward the outer
edges (Figure C). This helps the decal cling to
the unit.
CHECK ALIGNMENT OFTEN – if decal must
be repositioned, carefully peel a small
po tion upwards, then adjust as needed.
If the decal has set fo seve al minutes and
does not slide easily,
attempting to remove it
may damage the decal.
Step 5: To continue, hold top of decal in place,
then peel down more paper backing and
repeat the procedure until the entire decal is
installed. Wipe off excess glass cleaner.
Step 6: Repeat installat
ion steps for remaining
decals. To install left and right decals, the unit
should be placed on its side, and braced
against a wall, or held to prevent tipping.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Controls and Their Functions
POWER SWITCH – Turns the unit ON/OFF.
THERMOMETER – Displays the air temperature inside the cabinet. The unit is factory set to a
default temperature level for warming the product. To change the temperature setting,
have qualified service personnel reference the Master Board Settings, in the Maintenance
section of this manual.
DISPENSER BUTTONS – The unit is factory set with three dispensing volume levels (manual,
small, and large). To change dispense volume settings, have qualified service personnel
reference the Master Board Settings, in the Maintenance section of this manual.
O ange Button – set to MANUAL (free-flow), press button to dispense product.
Red Button - SMALL portion (factory set to dispense for 4 seconds).
Yellow Button - LARGE portion (factory set to dispense for 8 seconds).

Operating Instructions
1. Turn ower Switch ON.
2. re-heat unit with unopened product inside (product starting from room temperature
(70-75°F) takes approximately 4 hours to reach 140°F.
Impo tant: The temperature range of the unit can be set between 140°F and 155°F
(the interior air temperature). The actual p oduct tempe atu e may be
lowe o highe than the set tempe atu e depending on how long it has
been heated.
For specific product safe food holding temperature, reference your local code and/or
instructions from food product manufacturer.
3. Install preheated product (reference roduct Installation section), then place a tray in
position to receive cheese, and press dispense button for desired amount of product.
Turn off the power and unplug the machine at the end of each day. DO NOT leave the unit
operating unattended.
