Adjustable Cabinet Mantels
Models: SACMO, SACMW, MACMO, MACMW, LACMO, and LACMW
ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: Read entire instruction sheet be-
fore assembling or installing mantel kit.
If any wood pieces are missing or damaged, contact the dealer
where you purchased this mantel for replacement. If hardware
is missing or damaged, contact FMI PRODUCTS, LLC at
1-866-328-4537 for referral information. You can also visit
FMI PRODUCTS, LLC’s web site at www.fmiproducts.com.
Note: Gather all mantel pieces together before assembling
mantel.
WARNING: Only use provided screws to as-
semble mantel. Damage to mantel will result if
other screws are used for this purpose.
This mantel kit contains the following:
• 1 - Mantel Base
• 1 - Right Side Assembly
• 1 - Left Side Assembly
• 1 - Header
• 1 - Top
• 2 - Header Blocks
• 2 - Long Blocks
• 2 - Short Blocks
• 2 - Square Blocks
• 1 - Wall Bracket
• 1 - Small Filler Surround with:
1 - Horizontal Filler Surround Piece
2 - Vertical Filler surround pieces
• 1 - Large Filler Surround (MACMO, MACMW, LACMO,
LACMW only) with:
1 - Horizontal Filler Surround Piece
2 - Vertical Filler surround pieces
• 1 - Hardware Kit
32 - 1 1/4'' Wood Screws
2 - 2 1/2'' Wood Screws

1. Determine the location for the mantel allowing for clear-
ancetowallsandfurnitureaccordingtothereplace’s
owner’s manual. Place the mantel base against the wall
and mark wall molding on each end of the mantel base.
Move the mantel base, cut and remove the molding so
that the mantel can rest against the wall.
2. Install gas line and check for leaks. Follow the require-
mentsofyourgasreplaceowner’smanual.Remember
to leave access to the gas shutoff valve where it is ac-
cessible to the user.
3. Align the header and sides so that the trim molding is
ush,seeFigure2.Attachtheheadertotherightandleft
sides using two (2) header blocks and six (6) #10 1 1/4"
wood screws.

ASSEMBLING MANTEL
IMPORTANT: More than one person is required
to lift assembled mantel. Lift mantel by leg
assemblies. Lifting by header or mantel top
could damage mantel.
Use the table below to verify the opening and depth dimen-
sions for each mantel. In addition to meeting these dimen-
sional requirements, clearances to combustibles must also
bemaintainedaccordingtothereplaceandgaslogowner’s
manuals.

from the back of the mantel.
5. Place the sides and header assembly from step 3 on the
mantel base. Center the assembly and align the back of
the sides with the back of the mantel base.
6. Attach the sides to the mantel base using two (2) of the
long blocks and eight (8) 1 1/4"wood screws, see Figures
3 and 3a.

7. Reviewthettableingure1andyourreplaceface
dimensionstodetermineifallersurroundtrimisneeded.
If so proceed to step 8 otherwise skip steps 8 through 12
and continue at step 13 below.
8. Temporarilypositionthereplaceinthemantelsothat
thellersurroundtrimpiecescanbelocated.Centerthe
replaceinsidetheopeningwiththereplacefaceush
with the back of the mantel header.
9. Placetheverticalllersurroundtrimpiecesthroughthe
slotsinthemantelbaseandadjacenttothereplaceface.
10. Centerthehorizontalllersurroundtrimabovethere-
place and screw in place using two (2) 1 1/4" wood screws
through the two pre-drilled holes, see Figure 4.
11. Slidetheverticalllersurroundtrimpiecesagainstthe
horizontalllersurroundtrimpieceandagainsteachside
ofthe replace.Attacheach piece tothemantelbase
using the two (2) short blocks and eight (8) 1 1/4" wood
screws, see Figure 5.
12. Attachtheverticalandhorizontalllersurroundtrimpieces
using the two (2) square blocks and eight (8) 1 1/4" wood
screws, see Figure 5.
13. Place the mantel against the wall, place the top on the
sides and header assembly and mark the location for the
wall bracket below the top locating block. Attach the wall
bracket by screwing through the wall and into wall studs
using 2 1/2" wood screws.
14. Remove the top then slide the mantel away from the wall.
Install replace in mantel, following replace owner’s
manual to make any gas or electrical connections, and
thenrepositionthemantelandreplaceagainstthewall
initsnalposition.Replacetopmakingsurethetopblock
tsinthewallbracket.
