can cause the rope to break. This could
result in serious injury.
Do not pull the opener while pulling the
Capto. If this happens, the clamping
jaws may open and cause the potential
for serious injury.
The Capto may not be used as a hoist or
to lift heavy objects other than the
paper machine clothing for which it is
intended.
The rubber surfaces of the jaws must be
inspected before use. When significant
wear is present, the Capto may not be
used as the paper machine clothing
between the jaws could slip. This could
result in serious physical injury.
The device may not be clamped to body
parts.
Ensure sufficient grip on the handle; the
Capto may not be used when the
handle used for manually pulling is
greasy or wet.
A hammer may not be used to open the
clamping jaws.
Before touching the clothing and paper
machine components, ensure no static
electrical charge is present.
The product must be used correctly and
for the purpose for which it is intended.
Grasping the paper machine clothing
See illustration C on page 3 for an overview of
grasping the paper machine clothing.
Pull the opener back fully to open the jaws
and carefully slide them over the paper
machine clothing. Ensure the jaws are slid
over the paper machine clothing completely.
Release the opener to allow the jaws to grasp
the paper machine clothing. IMPORTANT: the
Capto may only be pulled on if the jaws are
slid over the paper machine clothing
completely and the opener is released!
Releasing the paper machine clothing
IMPORTANT: the paper machine clothing may
only be released when it is no longer being
pulled.
See illustration D on page 3 for an overview of
releasing the paper machine clothing. The
paper machine clothing can be released
easily, even while being pulled with
substantial force. By moving the opener
backward, the jaws open and the paper
machine clothing is released.
Maintenance
Before use: verify the rubber covering
on the clamping jaws is not worn. In the
event of excessive wear, the product is
not to be used and must be replaced.
After use: check that the jaw guides are
clean; if not, clean them immediately.
Troubleshooting
Spring is broken: do not use the device;

Jaws do not move easily due to debris in
the guide channels: do not use the

immediately.
Jaws are loose in the frame: guides are
