1. Description
The ARZ Z-Wave roller shutters are intended for mounting onto FAKRO roof
windows and have been adapted for cooperation with wireless control devices offered by
FAKRO. The ARZ Z-Wave roller shutters are equipped with a two-way “Z-Wave” radio
communication module ZWR. For communication, the Z-Wave module utilizes radio wave
frequency of 868,43 MHZ. The ARZ Z-Wave roller shutters feature two limit switches:
•limit switch at unfolded armour position,
•limit switch at folded armour position.
To be able to operate the shutter, it is necessary to install it following the picture installation
instructions included in the product package. Subsequently, the roller shutter should be
programmed for one of the remote controls/controllers offered by FAKRO see section 2.
In Figure 1 there is presented a general view of the available buttons and signaling, situated on
the upper right hand guide of the roller shutter.

The ZWR radio communication module built into the ARZ Z-Wave roller shutter is placed under the right
shutter casing cover see Figure 2.

2. Quick start
In order to operate the ARZ-Wave roller shutter using one of the controllers, e.g.
ZWK1, ZWK15, ZWP15 offered by FAKRO, it is necessary to:
1. Add the device (using “INCLUDE” function) to the memory of a selected controller.
Model procedure is presented in Figure 3;
2. Associate the device with a selected pair of buttons (using “ASSOCIATE” function).
Model procedure is presented in Figure 4.

1. Press “In/Ex” button on the controller once. The
controller is signaling readiness for adding a new device to
the network (external LEDs on for 10 seconds).
2. Press “P” button on the device and hold it for 0.5
sec.

2. Press “P” button on the device and hold it for 0.5
sec.
1. Within 1 sec., press:
- “In/Ex” button (1) once and then
- the button from this pair of buttons which is to
operate the device (e.g. 2).
The controller is signaling readiness for device
associating with a pair of buttons on the
controller (three LEDs on for 10 sec.).

3. Device programming
Detailed programming instructions are contained in the User's Manual for the controller
purchased. For associating devices with controller, the “programming button” should be used
(Figure 1, No.2) which has the following functions:
•Device adding (“INCLUDE” function) or removing ( “EXCLUDE” function) to/from the
Z-Wave network;
•Device associating (“ASSOCIATE” func ion) or deleting (“DELETE” function)
with/from selected control buttons of the controller.
Other manufacturers may use different programming sequences.

1. Within 1 sec. press “In/Ex” button twice. The
controller is signaling readiness for device excluding from
the network (two middle LEDs on for 10 sec.).
2. Press “P” button on the device and hold it for 0.5
sec.

1. Within 1.5 sec., press:
- “In/Ex” button (1) twice and then
- button from this pair of buttons which
operate the device to be deleted (e.g. 2).
The controller is signaling readiness for device
deleting (three LEDs on for 10 sec.).
2. Press “P” button on the device and hold it for 0.5
sec.

4. Manual operating
The “ manual opera ing bu on” (see Figure 1, item 4) allows manual control of the
motor unit right after the power is supplied. In order to control the shutter manually, press the
manual control button twice within 1.5 sec. Manual control works in a sequential mode, e.g.
1. First “double-pressing” the button starts the roller shutter armour.
2. Second “double-pressing” the button stops the roller shutter armour.
3. Third “double pressing” the button starts the roller shutter armour in the opposite
direction.

7. WARRANTY
The manufacturer guarantees correct device functioning. It also undertakes to repair
or replace the device if its defects result from material or structural faults. The warranty period
is 24 months from the purchase date, fulfilling the following conditions:
●Installation has been performed by an authorised individual, as per manufacturer
recommendations.
●Seals remain intact and no unauthorised structural changes have been made.
●The device has been used in accordance with its intended use as per user manual.
●Damage is not a result of improperly made electrical system or atmospheric phenomena.
●The manufacturer is not liable for damage which occurred as a result of improper use or
mechanical damage.
In case of failure, the device must be submitted for repair with a Warranty Card. Defects
revealed within the warranty period will be removed free of charge no longer than 14 days after
accepting the product for repair. Warranty and post-warranty repairs are performed by the
manufacturer i.e. FAKRO PP. Sp. z o.o..
