PLAYBACK
NOTE! Only use audio CD’s; not CD-ROM, CD-I or
CDV
•Press POWER ON to switch the player on.
•Insert an Audio CD, Printed side up, and close the
compartment by pressing OPEN/CLOSE. CLOSE
lights up, followed by READ. The number of tracks
and the playing time of the CD are shown on the
display
•Press PLAY to start play, you can also press PLAY
immediately after inserting the CD; the compartment
then closes automatically
SELECTING ANOTHER TRACK
•Press Next or Previous (⇒⇐) until the desired track
number appears under TRACK
SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE
•Hold Previous down to search backwards
•Hold Next down to search forwards
•The first two seconds of the search speed will be quite
slow, with sound. The search will then speed up to the
maximum speed, without sound.
PLAYING THE CD IN RANDOM ORDER
•Press SHUFFLE before or during play, SHUFFLE
lights up and all tracks are played in random order.
REPEATING PLAY (REPEAT)
•To repeat a track, press REPEAT before or during
play. REPEAT 1 lights up and the track will be
repeated continuously. Press REPEAT twice further to
cancel the repeat.
•To repeat the CD, press REPEAT twice before or
during play. REPEAT lights up and the CD will be
repeated continuously. Press REPEAT once further to
stop the CD being repeated.
CALLING UP THE TRACK PLAY TIME
(TIME)
•Press TIME when you wish to know the remaining
playing time of the track (REM TRACK TIME)
•Press TIME again if you wish to know the remaining
playing time of the whole CD (TOTAL REM TIME)
•Press TIME again if you wish to return to the elapsed
playing time display on the current track (TRACK
TIME)
SEARCHING THE LOUDEST PASSAGE
This function may be used for checking the loudest sound
passages.
•When the CD is in STOP mode, press PEAK
SEARCH. PEAK begins flashing, and the CD will be
scanned for the loudest passage (the peak). When this
has been found it will be repeated continuously (from
two seconds before and two seconds after the peak).
•You can now adjust your recording device for
optimum level.
•Search can be stopped by pressing STOP
SETTING THE FADE-IN AND FADE-
OUT TIME (FADER)
During play press FADER. The sound level will now
gradually decrease to FADE OUT. The player will then go
into pause mode.
SCANNING A CD (SCAN)
•Press SCAN before or during play. SCAN lights up
for 2 seconds and the first 10 seconds of each track are
played in turn.
•When a track you wish to hear in full is reached, press
SCAN again or PLAY.
ADJUSTING THE SOUND LEVEL (-/+
VOLUME)
The sound level can be adjusted by using the - / +
VOLUME keys.
RECOMMENDATIONS
We recommend to leave the sound level on the CD player
on MAX and adjust the sound level using the Volume
control on the amplifier for best performance. The settings
selected on - / + VOLUME will be cancelled and will
return to the maximum (default) level when the CD player
is switched on/off.
STORING A PROGRAMME (using
PROGRAM AND NEXT/PREVIOUS
KEYS)
You can store up to 30 tracks from each CD in any
required sequence in a programme. FULL lights up if you
exceed 30 tracks.
•In STOP mode, press PROGRAM to open the
memory. PROGRAM begins flashing.
•Press NEXT or PREVIOUS until your desired track
number appears under TRACK.
•Press PROGRAM again. The track number has now
been stored. Selected other tracks as desired and store
each one by pressing PROGRAM
•The number of tracks and the playing time of your
programme will be shown under TRACK AND
TOTAL TIME. The track number indicator always
shows the tracks stored.
