INTRODUCTION

If there is one thing we could all agree on, it’s

that riding a bike should be fun. Not painful. Not

work. Not something to be thought of with a

deep sigh and a “well, if I HAVE to” grumble. Fun,

like when you were a kid and getting on your bike

meant you were free from the risk of getting

asked to do the chores or your homework.

And now, thanks to technology, we are able to

offer you an even easier way to ride. Your e-bike

is powered by 36v lithium-ion battery that drives a

250w rear hub motor, assisting each pedal stroke

with 5 different levels of pedal assist. Remember

that hill near your house that you avoid because

you hate the feeling of walking your bike up it?

INTRODUCTION

S’il y a une chose sur laquelle nous pouvons tous

nous mettre d’accord, c’est que faire du vélo

devrait être amusant. Sans douleur. Sans effort.

Sans grognements à contrecœur, « eh bien, si

c’est absolument nécessaire ». Amusant, comme

quand vous étiez enfant et monter sur votre vélo

représentait la liberté des corvées et des devoirs.

Et maintenant, grâce à la technologie, nous vous

offrons une façon encore plus simple de vous

balader. Votre vélo électrique est alimenté par

une batterie lithium-ion de 36 V qui entraîne un

moteur de moyeu arrière de 250 W, fournissant 5

niveaux différents d’assistance à chaque coup

de pédale. Vous savez, cette colline près de

chez vous que vous évitez parce que vous

détestez devoir accompagner votre vélo à pied

SECTION 2:

ASSEMBLY

There are 5 main assembly steps to getting your

new Everyday e-bike built up and ready to safely

ride. All of these are covered in detail in the

following sections, but in general, you need to

attach the handlebars, insert the front wheel into

the fork and attach the front disc brake caliper,

and then attach the pedals and saddle with seat

post assembly.

SECTION 2 :

MONTAGE

Il y a 5 étapes principales de montage pour

construire votre nouveau vélo électrique Everyday

et le préparer à rouler en toute sécurité. Tous ces

éléments sont traités en détail dans les sections

suivantes, mais en général, vous devez fixer le

guidon, insérer la roue avant dans la fourche et

fixer l’étrier de frein à disque avant, puis fixer les

pédales et la selle avec l’ensemble de tige de

selle.

SECTION 2.1:

ATTACHING THE HANDLEBAR

Rotate the stem so that its facing frontwards (Fig. 1).

Faites pivoter la tige de manière à ce qu’elle soit

orientée vers l’avant (Fig. 1).

Using the supplied Allen key, unscrew the 4 stem

faceplate bolts that are shipped inserted into the

stem faceplate, and remove the faceplate. Using

the knurling on the handlebar as a guide to

making sure it is centred, place the handlebar into

the handlebar stem, and lightly screw the 4 bolts

into the faceplate.

À l’aide de la clé Allen fournie, dévissez les 4

boulons de la plaque frontale de la tige qui

servent à la fixer au guidon et retirez la plaque

frontale. À l’aide du moletage sur le guidon,

assurez-vous que le guidon est bien centré,

plaque frontale et revissez légèrement les 4 bou-

lons.

To start, insert the bottom right screw first, and then

the top left bolt. Next, insert the bottom left bolt,

and then the top right bolt last.

Continue to tighten the bolts in this order (bottom

right, top left, bottom left, top right) a little bit at a

time, so that all of the screws are tightened evenly

(fig. 2). This is very important to ensure that no bolt

is accidentally over tightened, which can result in

the threads of the stem stripping unexpectedly.

The LCD ships connected, but in case a wire

comes loose, connect all of the wires accord-

ing to colour (Fig. 3).

L'écran LCD est déjà raccordé, toutefois, si l'un

des fils n'est pas correctement relié, connect-

ez tous les fils en fonction de leur couleur

(Fig. 3).

Pour commencer, insérez d’abord la vis inférieure

droite, puis le boulon supérieur gauche. Ensuite,

insérez le boulon inférieur gauche, puis le boulon

supérieur droit en dernier.

Continuez à serrer les boulons dans cet ordre

(inférieur droite, supérieur gauche, inférieur gauche,

supérieur droite) petit à petit, afin de serrer toutes

les vis de manière uniforme (Fig. 2). Ceci est très

important pour garantir qu’aucun boulon n’est

accidentellement trop serré, ce qui risque d’en-

traîner le dénudage inattendu des filetages de la

tige.

SECTION 2.2:

INSERTING THE FRONT WHEEL ASSEMBLY

First, locate the Front Wheel Quick Release Axle,

which is shipped with the tools in a separate box.

Remove the axle nut and the corresponding

spring, placing them near the bike so that you can

reach them in the next step (Fig 4).

SECTION 2.2 :

INSERTION DE L’ASSEMBLAGE DE LA

ROUE AVANT

Repérez d’abord l’essieu à blocage rapide de la

roue avant, qui est livré avec les outils dans une

boîte séparée. Retirez l’écrou de l’essieu et le

ressort correspondant, en les plaçant près du vélo

afin d’y avoir accès à l’étape suivante (Fig. 4).

With the Quick Release Lever open (Fig. 5), insert

the Front Wheel Assembly into the wheel mounts

at the bottom of the fork and slide the Quick

Release Axle through the hub of the wheel (Fig. 6),

placing the spring and the axle nut onto the open

end of the axle rod (Fig. 7). Tighten the axle nut,

and close the Quick Release Lever so that there is

sufficient tension to hold the wheel in place. Spin

the wheel to make sure that its centred, and

ensure that the front axle is secure.

Avec le levier de blocage rapide ouvert (Fig. 5),

Insérez la roue avant dans les supports de roue au

bas de la fourche et faites glisser l’essieu à

blocage rapide à travers le moyeu de la roue

(Fig. 6), en plaçant le ressort et l’écrou d’essieu sur

l’extrémité ouverte de la tige de l’essieu (Fig. 7).

Serrez l’écrou de l’essieu et fermez le levier de

blocage rapide de manière à ce qu’il y ait une

tension suffisante pour maintenir la roue en place.

Faites tourner la roue pour vous assurer qu’elle est

centrée et assurez-vous que l’essieu avant est

bien fixé.

SECTION 2.3:

ATTACHING THE DISC BRAKE CALIPER

The Disc Brake Caliper is shipped pre-attached to

the brake cable, so it only needs to be attached

to the front fork caliper mounting bosses (Fig. 8).

L’étrier de frein à disque est livré pré-attaché au

câble de frein, il ne doit donc être fixé qu’aux

patrons de montage de l’étrier de fourche avant

(Fig. 8).

Using the supplied tool, loosely attach the top bolt

of the Caliper Assembly and guide the assembly

onto the Disc Brake Rotor. Loosely tighten the

bottom bolt, and then alternate tightening each

of the bolts a half turn. The Disc Brake should be

spinning through the Disc Brake Caliper smoothly

and not binding.

À l'aide de l'outil fourni, fixez sans le serrer le

boulon supérieur de l'étrier et placez l'ensemble

sur le rotor du frein à disque. Serrez légèrement le

boulon inférieur, puis serrez en alternance chacun

des boulons d'un demi-tour. Le disque doit tourner

dans l'étrier de frein sans frottement et sans

blocage.

Take care not to squeeze the front brake lever

while the disc brake is not inserted into the disc

brake caliper, or the brake pads could seize

together.

Veillez à ne pas actionner la poignée du frein

avant si le disque de frein n'est pas inséré dans

l'étrier, car les plaquettes de frein pourraient se

bloquer l'une contre l'autre.

NOTE: Your Everyday bicycle has been facto-

ry-adjusted before shipping, so that you have the

best possible experience right out of the box.

However, there will be a break-in period where the

brake and derailleur cables will stretch and need

to be adjusted. This is a completely normal and

expected part of bicycle maintenance, and can

be easily resolved with adjustments. The easiest

adjustment to take up slack from stretched cable

is to rotate the barrel adjustor at the brake levers

(Fig. 11) or at the rear derailleur (Fig. 12). For more

significant adjustments, feel free to contact our

Customer Service team at any time. There are

also many online resources that can help, or

please visit your local bike shop for a bicycle

tune-up service, which should be performed

annually.

REMARQUE : Votre vélo Everyday a été réglé en

usine avant l’expédition, afin que vous ayez la

meilleure expérience possible dès son déballage.

Cependant, il y aura une période de rodage

pendant laquelle les câbles de frein et de dérail-

leur s’étireront et devront être ajustés. Cela est tout

à fait normal, fait partie de l’entretien du vélo et

peut être facilement résolu avec des petits ajuste-

ments. Le réglage le plus simple pour éliminer le

jeu du câble étiré consiste à faire tourner le

dispositif de réglage du barillet au niveau des

leviers de frein (Fig. 11) ou du dérailleur arrière (Fig.

12). Pour des ajustements plus importants, n’hési-

tez pas à contacter notre service à la clientèle à

tout moment. De nombreuses ressources en ligne

peuvent vous aider, ou vous pouvez visiter votre

magasin de vélos local pour un service de mise

au point de vélos, qui devrait être effectué

chaque année.

SECTION 2.4:

ATTACHING THE PEDALS

Each pedal is labelled either Left or Right, and has

either a L or R stamped into the end of the pedal

axle (Fig. 13).

When you are seated on your bicycle, the left

side of the bike is also your left side. The left is also

referred to as the “non-drive side”, since the crank

assembly and drivetrain are on the right side of

the bike (the “drive side”). The Left and Right

pedals can ONLY be installed on the correct side

of the bike, so it is very important to make sure

that you have the appropriate pedals for the

correct side of the bike.

To start, insert the pedal into the crank arm, and

start to tighten the threads towards the front of the

bicycle. Hand tighten the pedal first to ensure that

its correctly threaded, and going into the crank

arm smoothly. To finish tightening the pedal, use

the supplied pedal wrench, and apply an appro-

priate amount of tension so that they pedal is fully

tightened (Fig. 14). Repeat this process for the

other side of the bicycle.

SECTION 2.4 :

FIXATION DES PÉDALES

Chaque pédale est étiquetée Gauche ou Droite

et est doté soit d’un L (Left) ou d’un R (Right)

estampé à l’extrémité de l’axe de pédale (Fig. 13).

Lorsque vous êtes assis à vélo, le côté gauche

du vélo est également votre côté gauche. Le

côté gauche est également appelé « côté non

conduite », car la manivelle et la transmission se

trouvent sur le côté droit du vélo (le « côté con-

duite »). Les pédales gauche et droite peuvent

être installées UNIQUEMENT sur le côté correspon-

dant du vélo, il est donc très important de s’assur-

er que vous placez les pédales de manière

appropriée.

Pour commencer, insérez la pédale dans la

manivelle et commencez à serrer le filetage vers

l’avant du vélo. Serrez d’abord la pédale à la

main pour vous assurer qu’elle est correctement

enfilée et qu’elle pénètre doucement dans la

manivelle. Pour terminer le serrage de la pédale,

utilisez la clé à pédale fournie et appliquez une

tension appropriée afin que la pédale soit serrée

à fond (Fig. 14). Répétez ce processus pour

l’autre côté du vélo.
