OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS5.
USING THE INVERTER5.1
It is important to know the continuous wattage of the device you plan to
use with the inverter. The Power Pak must be used with devices drawing
400 watts or less. If the wattage is not marked on the device, an estimate
can be made by multiplying the AC input current (Amps) by the AC voltage
(120V).
Devices like TVs, fans or electric motors require additional power to start
(commonly known as the “starting or peak power”). The Power Pak can
supply a momentary surge in wattage; however even devices rated less
than the maximum 400 watts can exceed the inverter’s surge capability
and cause an automatic overload shutdown.
Make sure the device you are using is compatible with a modied sine
wave inverter.
CAUTION: Always run a test to establish whether the inverter will operate

•3 •
a particular piece of equipment or device.
NOTE: In the event of a power overload, the inverter is designed to auto-
matically shut down. This safety feature prevents damaging the inverter
while testing devices and equipment with the 400-watt range. Attempting
to power a device or equipment rated for over 400W may cause damage
to the equipment.
POWERING A 120V AC DEVICE5.2
To operate a 120V AC device:
Plug the 120V AC device into the AC power outlet, and push the inverter •
switch to ON.
Turn on the 120V AC device (if required).•
If a device will not operate properly when rst connected to the inverter, •
push the inverter rocker switch ON (I), OFF (0), and ON (I) again in quick
succession. If this procedure is not successful, it is likely that the Power
Pak does not have the required capacity to operate the device in ques-
tion.
Charge the Power Pak as soon as possible after each use.•
CAUTION: Incorrect operation of your inverter may result in property dam-
age and personal injury. Electrical current on a 120-volt circuit can be very
dangerous.

12 VOLT DC POWER OUTLET CHART6.
The Power Pak is a power source for all 12 volt DC accessories equipped 6.1
with a 12 volt accessory plug. Make sure that the device to be powered is
OFF before inserting the 12 volt accessory plug into the 12 volt DC acces-
sory outlet. Use for power outages, shing, and camping trips. Estimated
usage time is listed in the below chart:
Appliance Type Estimated Wattage Estimated Time

9 Watts 20 Hours
Camcorders, VCRs 15 Watts 6 Hours
NOTE: Estimated run-times. Actual time may vary. Times are based on the
internal battery being fully charged.
The DC accessory outlet has a 15-amp automatic overload protection
circuit breaker. If an overload occurs, unplug (remove) accessory, and the
breaker will automatically reset.
STORAGE7.
IMPORTANT:
CHARGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE•
KEEP FULLY CHARGED•
Charge the Power Pak’s internal battery before rst use and every use
thereafter.
All batteries are affected by temperature. The ideal storage temperature is
at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The internal battery will gradually self-discharge
(lose power) over time, especially in warm environments. Leaving the
battery in a discharged state may result in permanent battery damage. To
ensure satisfactory performance and avoid permanent damage, charge
the internal battery every month.
