This manual is a guide hich enables you to correctly install and use your UPS. This manual includes important SAFETY instructions for the
operator, for the UPS correct installation, and gives useful advice on the product and battery maintenance. For any type of problem, please refer
to this manual before calling the customer service.

In the UPS there are no parts which are subject to user’s maintenance. Any type of maintenance an repair must be carrie out

INTRODUCTION
ERA LCD is a Line Interactive UPS (Uninterruptible Po er Supply) specifically designed to protect your computer from any type of irregularities in
the AC line (such as black-outs, under or overvoltages, micro-interruptions) hich often cause damage to your Hard are and Soft are.
Under normal AC line condition, ERA LCD performs output voltage regulation and filters frequently occurring electrical disturbances (such as
transients, spikes, interferences, etc.), thus protecting all devices connected to the outlets, and recharging the batteries in an ideal ay. In case
of anomaly to the AC line, the UPS continues supplying the correct po er to all connected equipments.
ERA LCD is equipped ith USB interface, hich can be used to notify a po er failure or a lo battery condition directly to a computer: this makes
it possible to automatically save your data during an extended black-out ith the most idespread operating systems (Windo s, Novell, Linux,
etc.)
ATTENTION:
ERA LCD is equipped of two UPS OUTLETS and one FILTERED OUTLET of p otection f om spike and su ge. This outlet p otects
the devices connected f om ove voltages and distu bances of the AC line. In case of black out it is not supplied by UPS batte y. In case of
anomaly to the AC line, the UPS outlets continue supplying the co ect powe to all connected equipments.

INSTALLATION
INSPECTION AND PLACEMENT CHOICE
Carefully remove the UPS from its packaging, and carry out a meticulous inspection. We recommend keeping the original packaging in case you
need to send the UPS for maintenance purposes.
We recommend to pay attention to the belo points in order to choose a correct placement for your UPS:
●
Place ERA LCD as close as possible both to the input electrical line and to the equipment to be supplied.
●
ERA LCD is designed to operate in protected environments (for example: offices). We therefore recommend to install it in a place ith
no humidity, dust, or smoke. Ho ever, for the environmental requirements please refer to the “Specifications” chapter, and check
that the selected place meets ith such specifications.
●
It is necessary to leave at least 20 cm of space all around ERA LCD in order to permit reasonable ventilation.
●
Do not obstruct ventilation holes and do not insert objects or liquids in the ventilation holes.
●
Do not place any object on top of the UPS.
●
Do not keep liquids, flammable gases, or corrosive substances near the unit.
INSTALLATION
For a correct installation please carry out the follo ing points:
1. S itch your PC off.
2. Unplug the PC feeding cable and use it to connect the UPS to an AC line outlet. It is mandato y to g ound the outlet acco ding to the
Safety Standa ds. Carefully check the grounding, make sure that the utility po er is available, and that its range falls ithin the UPS
specifications (refer to the “Specifications” chapter).
3. Turn the UPS ON (by pressing the front panel button) and leave it in ON for at least 8 hours in order to completely re-charge the battery.
4. S itch the UPS OFF (by pressing again the front panel button).
5. Connect the devices to the UPS output socket by using the supplied output cables and turn all the s itches ON.
6. Restart the UPS, check that the po er up performance takes place properly and that the UPS does not give any arning signals. Make sure
that all devices are turned ON accordingly.
FUNCTIONING
TURN ON AND FUNCTIONING
To turn your UPS on it is sufficient to plug it to the AC utility line outlet and press the ON/OFF button on the front panel. The UPS emits an
acoustic signal, the display on the front panel turns on and the UPS begins orking in “AC mode”.

ATTENTION: ERA LCD automatically s itches to the BATTERY (“BATTERY” mode) henever the Mains voltage amplitude is out of the
safety limit (due to: black-out /surge /over/under voltage).
●
ATTENTION: never po er a laser printer or plotter on to your UPS: the laser printer or the plotter absorb a higher po er than the one
absorbed in aiting mode, and this may over charge your UPS.
TURN OFF
To turn your ERA LCD OFF, it is enough to press the ON/OFF button.
ALARMS
“
BATTERY” mode (slow ala m)
When ERA LCD orks in “BATTERY” mode, it emits a sustained acoustic signal. The alarm stops as soon as the UPS returns to normal on “AC”
functioning mode.
●
ATTENTION: in “BATTERY” mode, the UPS emits an acoustic alarm signal every 10 seconds and simultaneously the display sho s
“BATTERY mode” functioning.
“LOW BATTERY” CONDITIONS (fast ala m)
When the UPS operates in “BATTERY” mode and the remaining autonomy of the battery is around 25%, the UPS emits a sustained acoustic signal.
If the AC utility line is not restored, the UPS continues orking in “LOW BATTERY” condition, until it s itches off due to battery exhaustion of
energy. When the AC line returns, the UPS s itches on automatically and restarts orking on “AC” mode.
●
ATTENTION: in “LOW BATTERY” condition, the UPS emits an acoustic alarm signal every 0,5 seconds and simultaneously the display
sho s “LOW BATTERY mode”.
“OVERLOAD” CONDITIONS (continued ala m)
The UPS indicates an “OVERLOAD” condition through a continuing acoustic sound signalling and simultaneously the display sho s “OVER LOAD”.In
such case, the user must reduce the output po er ithin the specification range, by disconnecting the devices causing the overload. In case of
“OVERLOAD”, the UPS may automatically s itch off, protecting itself from this anomalous situation.

IMPORTANTI AVVISI DI SICUREZZA

L'UPS eve essere utilizzato solo a personale opportunamente istruito. Per l’uso corretto e in con izioni i sicurezza è
necessario che gli operatori e il personale i manutenzione si attengano alle norme generali i sicurezza, in aggiunta alle norme
specifiche contenute in questo manuale.
●
Rischio i shock elettrico: non rimuovere il coperchio. L’UPS presenta parti interne sotto tensione che sono potenzialmente
pericolose e possono provocare lesioni o morte per shock elettrico.
●
L’UPS non ha parti interne soggette a manutenzione a parte ell’utente. Interventi tecnici i qualsiasi tipo evono essere
compiuti solo a personale tecnico specializzato e autorizzato a TECNOWARE. In caso contrario TECNOWARE eclina ogni sua
responsabilità.
●
Il collegamento a terra ell’UPS secon o le norme vigenti è obbligatorio.

INTRODUZIONE
ERA LCD è un UPS (Uninterruptible Po er Supply), cioe’ un gruppo di continuità, di tipo Line Interactive, realizzato appositamente per proteggere
il Computer da qualsiasi avaria della rete elettrica (black-out, sottotensioni, sovratensioni, microinterruzioni), causa dei frequenti danneggiamenti
di Hard are e Soft are.
Quando è presente la tensione di rete elettrica, ERA LCD svolge le funzioni di stabilizzatore e filtra i disturbi frequentemente presenti sulla linea
elettrica (transienti, spike, interferenze, etc.), preservando in tal modo i dispositivi collegati alla sua uscita; inoltre ricarica le batterie in modo
ottimale. In caso di avaria della rete elettrica, l’UPS continua a fornire un’adeguata potenza ai dispositivi collegati.
ERA LCD è dotato di una porta di comunicazione USB, che può essere utilizzata per segnalare ad un generico elaboratore o computer le condizioni
di assenza rete e di fine autonomia: ciò rende possibile lo svolgimento delle funzioni di salvataggio automatico dei dati durante un black-out
prolungato con i più diffusi sistemi operativi (Windo s, Novell, Linux, etc.)
ATTENZIONE:
ERA LCD è dotato di due uscite UPS (UPS OUTLET) e di una uscita filt ata di p otezione cont o spike e su ge (FILTERED
OUTLET). Questa uscita p otegge il dispositivo collegato cont o sov atensioni e distu bi della ete elett ica, ma non è alimentata dalla
batte ia dell’UPS in caso di black out. In caso di ava ia della ete elett ica, le uscite UPS continuano a fo ni e un’adeguata potenza ai
dispositivi collegati.
Le principali caratteristiche dell’UPS sono:

Protezione da sovraccarico sia nel modo di funzionamento normale che in modo batterie.

Riaccensione automatica dopo lo spengimento per fine autonomia al ritorno della tensione di rete.

INSTALLAZIONE
ISPEZIONE E SCELTA DELLA COLLOCAZIONE
Rimuovere l’UPS dall’imballo con cautela e ispezionarlo accuratamente. Si consiglia di conservare l’imballo nell’eventualità futura che l’UPS debba
essere spedito per la manutenzione.
Si consiglia di prestare attenzione ai punti seguenti per la scelta di una corretta collocazione dell’UPS:
●
Collocare ERA LCD il più vicino possibile sia alla linea elettrica d'ingresso che ai dispositivi a cui deve fornire potenza.
●
ERA LCD è progettato per operare in ambienti chiusi (come ad esempio gli uffici). Si consiglia perciò d’installarlo in un luogo privo di
umidità, polvere e fumo eccessivi. Consultare comunque il capitolo “Caratteristiche Tecniche” per i requisiti ambientali e controllare
che il luogo scelto rientri in tali specifiche.
●
È necessario lasciare uno spazio di almeno 20 cm su tutti i lati di ERA LCD per permetterne una sufficiente areazione.
●
Non ostruire le fessure o i fori di ventilazione e non inserire oggetti o versare liquidi nei fori di ventilazione.
●
Non appoggiare alcun oggetto sopra l’UPS.
●
Non avvicinare liquidi, gas infiammabili o sostante corrosive.
INSTALLAZIONE
Per una corretta installazione svolgere i seguenti punti:
1. Spengere il PC.
2. Scollegare il cavo di alimentazione del PC ed utilizzarlo per collegare l’UPS ad una presa di alimentazione elettrica, che deve ave e
obbligato iamente una connessione a te a secondo le no me vigenti. Verificare il collegamento a terra della presa e accertarsi della
presenza della tensione di rete elettrica e che la sua ampiezza rientri nelle specifiche (vedi capitolo “Caratteristiche Tecniche”).
3. Accendere l’UPS (premendo il pulsante sul frontale) e lasciarlo acceso per almeno 8 ore al fine di ricaricare completamente le batterie.
4. Spengere l'UPS (premendo di nuovo il pulsante sul frontale).
5. Collegare i vari dispositivi alle prese d'uscita dell’UPS tramite i cavi in dotazione; posizionare i relativi interruttori su ACCESO.
6. Riaccendere l’UPS; controllare lo svolgimento della fase di accensione e che l’UPS non segnali nessuna anomalia. Accertarsi che tutti i
dispositivi si siano accesi regolarmente
.
FUNZIONAMENTO
ACCENSIONE E FUNZIONAMENTO
Per accendere l’UPS è sufficiente collegarlo alla linea elettrica e premere il pulsante ON/OFF sul pannello frontale. L’UPS emette una
segnalazione acustica, accende il display sul frontale e comincia a lavorare in modo Presenza rete (“AC” mode).
●
ATTENZIONE:
ERA LCD passa automaticamente a funzionare in modo BATTERIE (“BATTERY” mode) se l’ampiezza della tensione di
rete esce dai limiti di sicurezza (per un black-out oppure per sovra/sottotensioni).
●
ATTENZIONE:
non alimentare mai una stampante laser o un plotter con l’UPS: una stampante laser o un plotter assorbe in alcuni
momenti di funzionamento una potenza molto più alta di quella che assorbe in stato di attesa e questo può sovraccaricare l’UPS.
SPENGIMENTO
Per spengere ERA LCD è sufficiente premere il pulsante ON/OFF.
ALLARMI
“BATTERY” mode (alla me lento)
Quando ERA LCD lavora in “BATTERY” mode, emette un segnale acustico di allarme. L’allarme cessa non appena l’UPS ritorna a lavorare
normalmente in “AC” mode.
●
ATTENZIONE: l’allarme “BATTERY” viene emesso 1 volta ogni 10 secondi e contemporaneamente il display indica lo stato di
funzionamento in modo BATTERIE (“BATTERY” mode).
Condizioni di “LOW BATTERY” (alla me veloce)
Quando l’UPS lavora in “BATTERY” mode e l’autonomia residua delle batterie è circa 25%, l’UPS emette un rapido segnale acustico di allarme.
L’UPS continua a lavorare in condizioni di “LOW BATTERY”, se la linea elettrica non viene ripristinata, fino a che non si spenge automaticamente
in seguito all’esaurimento dell’energia delle batterie. Al ritorno della linea elettrica l’UPS si riaccende automaticamente e ricomincia a lavorare in
“AC” mode.
●
ATTENZIONE: l’allarme “LOW BATTERY” viene emesso 1 volta ogni 0,5 secondi e contemporaneamente il display indica lo stato di
“LOW BATTERY”.
Condizioni di “OVERLOAD” (alla me continuo)
Il dispaly dell’UPS indica la condizione di “OVERLOAD” ed emette segnalazione acustica continua di allarme. In tal caso l’utente deve riportare al
più presto la richiesta di potenza all’interno delle specifiche, scollegando i dispositivi che generano sovraccarico. In caso di “OVERLOAD” l’UPS può
spegnersi automaticamente per proteggersi dalla situazione anomala.
