Minerals and salts in water cause residues, corrosion and
deposits. PUROTAP® micro filters mineral salts out of tap
water, thereby producing water equivalent to distillate, for

The PUROTAP® micro cartridge filters lime and aggressive substances, such as sulphates, nitrates and chlorides,
out of the fill water. The PUROTAP® micro uses a mixed bed ion exchanger to provide demineralised, fully desali-
nated water. This method does not emit any chemical additives into the water and works without a power sup-
ply.
The cartridge is spent once the resin within it changes from blue to pale grey/beige.

Using the wall mounting bracket supplied, install the cartridge in a suitable position on the wall near a tap.
The section of tubing supplied can simply be wound round the cartridge mounting bracket.
The direction of flow is not important at this stage. Once selected, however, this should not be changed before
the cartridge is spent.

Additional applications
According to European standards, water for filling heating systems should generally be demineralised. Practical experience
has shown that, even at a low hardness level, limescale deposits can cause damage to modern appliances, such as wall
mounted gas boilers, heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
Demineralised water from PUROTAP® micro no longer contains any minerals. Moreover, its electrical conductivity is
extremely low, which enables it to act as a corrosion inhibitor.
Due to its purity, demineralised water is
suitable for various household applications.
You can remove the cartridge from the wall
mounting bracket and simply attach it to any
commercially available garden hose.
Please note that the cartridge must not be
left unsupervised and/or permanently sub-
jected to water pressure.
Failure to clean solar thermal systems can reduce their output by as much as
20 %. Cleaning them with drinking water causes limescale deposits. Automatic
cleaning with demineralised water achieves the best, safe results.
Avoid using cleaning agents outdoors. Windows, conservatories and cars
washed with a brush and demineralised water will dry with a perfect, smear-
free shine.
Limescale-free steam production in irons, air humidifiers, steamers etc. for
improved operation and less maintenance and wear.
Recommended as basic and top-up water for special fish farms from pet
stores. Before using, it is essential to follow the pet store specialist's instruc-
tions for use.

The above table shows the capacity of a full desa-
lination cartridge as a function of the total hard-
ness of the fill water.
Example: at a hardness of 25°fH/14°dH,
PUROTAP micro delivers approximately 200
litres fully desalinated water, at a hardness of
15°fH/8°dH, approximately 330 litres.

The ideal flow rate is 4-5 litres per minute. This is similar to fast-flowing water for washing your
hands.
Protect the cartridge from light if used over a long period of time, since light destroys the colour
indicator.
Rinse cartridge briefly every time before use if used over a long period of time, to prevent algal
and bacterial growth.
Never subject the cartridge to pressure when unsupervised and only when using for short
periods of time in accordance with the instructions.
Do not permanently connect the cartridge to a pressure line.
Do not open the cartridge. The resin it contains can cause severe irritation in the event of eye
contact. In the event of eye contact: rinse eyes thoroughly with plenty of water and consult a
doctor.
The cartridge does not supply drinking water and does not have food approval.
Only fill heating systems which have a pipe separator between drinking water and heating
systems, which is valid according to DIN EN 1717.
Manufacturer and supplier information and instructions on the use of demineralised water (fully
desalinated water) must be complied with and take precedence at all times.
