GENERAL
The Renaissance range of fuel effect gas fires are intended for decorative purposes. They are, not designed to
be converted or used on any other fuel, other than that specified on the appliance data plate.
TYPE OF FLUE UITABLE
16” & 18” Insets and 16”, 18” & 22” Hotboxes
Appliances are suita le for Class 1 flue systems only, and can e hearth mounted to a non-
com usti le wall or suita le fire surround.
The flue or chimney should have no dimension across its axis of less than 175mm (7in), and a
minimum height of not less than 3m (10ft) from the hearth to the termination point of the flue.
The chimney must have any damper or register plate removed or fixed permanently in the fully
open position.
16” Renaissance Class II Hotbox
Appliance is suita le for oth Class I & II application. Class II using either metal ox and
minimum 5” diameter flue or pre-cast flue provided the starter locks are of sufficient size to
accommodate. In either case a minimum height of not less than 3m (10ft) is required.
Note: The Dunbrik Mini Clearflow flue block system employing “M set” starter bricks are ideal (see diag.)
16” & 18” Insets
The 16” & 18” Inset fires are only suita le for installation into either: Hot oxes supplied y DGF Fa rications
or into existing solid fuel urning fireplaces where components to BS 1251 “Open fireplace Components” are
used.

APPROVAL /RECOMMENDATION
The appliances have een designed to meet the requirements of EN509, and other relevant
safety standards, ut during use parts of the Hot ox casing may ecome HOT. It is therefore
recommended that a suita le fireguard to BS6539 “Fireguards for use with solid fuel appliances”
e used where the very young or infirm are concerned.
