SOFTWAREINSTALLATION
Users of Windows ME/2000/XP do not need to install anydriver, as the operating system automatically recognizes
the player as a “Removable Disk”.
Users of Window 98SE have to install theadequate driver (provided on the attached CD-ROM, if any) onto the PC
before connecting to the PC.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
The internal Li-Ion battery can be charged via power adaptor(option) or by connecting to the PC. The charging
status is shown by the battery symbol inthe top right corner of the display.
Make sure the battery is fully charged beforefirst use.
When charging for the first time the battery should remain connected tothe powersupply for 4 hours. In further
charging process, 2 hours will do for charging 80%forthe battery and 4 hours for a full battery charge.
CONNECTION AND DOWNLOAD
Make sure the player is connected properly to the PC inthe process of formatting or uploading and downloading to
avoid program mistakes.

Connect to the PC
Connect the player to the PC with attached USB cable. Note that, do not use USB hub or USB extended line.
The PC system detects “New hardware” and starts to install the driver automatically, if needed, wait for the system
to finish the installation. If you are using Windows XP, new “Removable Disk” will appear in the ‘My Computer”
window.
Please note: Users of Windows 98SE have to install the driver (if any) onto the computer before connecting the
player to the PC.
Disconnect from the PC
After complete the transmission, disconnect the player from the PC. Double click the icon on the system tray on
the bottom right corner of the Windows screen.After selecting the USB device, click the [Stop] button. Whenyou
see the [Safely Remove Hardware] window, click [OK] and then unplug the USB cable.
Download files
First connect the player to the PCby usingthe included USB cable.
The display will show the connection status.
This player will build the play list by scanning all fileswhich sorted by letter order.
Download your favorite audio tracks or other files to the player as the steps bellow:
yFind out your favorite MP3 or WMAmusic files in “My Computer”.
yUse the mouse to select those music files and click those files with the right button of the mouse to select “Copy”.
yFind Removable Drive in “My Computer” and enter it, then right click on the mouse to paste those files to the
Removable Drive.
Caution: Do not disconnect the playerfrom the PC during data transfer! It will damage the player.

Loading DRM (DRM9) protected WMAaudio tracks with Windows Media®Player 10
yStart the Windows Media®Player and select the musiclibrary to manage your songs.
yIn Windows Media® Player 10, select the function “Sync”.
yFor further advice please refer to the Windows Media®Player FAQs regarding Microsoft® Windows Media® DRM.

FM Radio
After enter FM Radio mode, the system remain in preset mode. Press Play/Pause [/] button and then switch
between preset mode and scan mode in Change mode. Press Previous/Rewind [] and Next/ Fast-forward []
button under Scan mode to search desired frequency.After enterAuto scan mode, the system will automatically
scan and save channels automatically in 87.5~108MHz in sequence (if the FM region is JPN, the frequency will be
76 ~91MHz).
Please note: Earphone serve as an extended antenna, so please keep them plugged inwhen searching for a
channel.
RECORD
Recording FM Radio
Press [] and [] button to select FM Radio mode and enter it.
yPress and hold SRS button or select FM record in the sub menu of FM radio to enter FM record state.
The recorded file will be created in the folder named “FM”
yPress [/] button to pause recording and press Power button to stop it

Recording Voice
Face the built-in microphone towards the sound source before youstart recording.
yMicrophone recording begins if Record is selected in the main menu.
yPress and hold SRS button to start recording in voice mode while voice playing
The recorded file will be created in the folder named “VOICE”
yPress [/] button to pause recording and press Power button to stop it
