Itisrecommendedthatanexperiencedgateinstallerisusedtoinstallyourgatemotor.Ifyouintendto
installthismotoryourself,pleasereadthismanualcarefullybeforeanyinstallationbegins.
Itisstronglyrecommendedthatsafetybeamsareusedonallinstallations,asthisreducestheriskof
thegateclosingonapedestrianorvehicle.
NOTE:D.A.C.E.suppliesanonboardreceiverwitheverymotor.D.A.C.E.cannotguaranteetherange
ofthereceiverduetointerferenceorobstaclesinthepathofthereceiver.
ThisautomaticgateoperatorisNOTasecuritydevice.Itisdesignedtomakeaccesstoapremises
undemanding.
BMG ImportsofferaStandard Warrantyonthisequipment.ThefollowingtermsandconditionsapplytoALL
warrantyclaims.
BMG ImportswarrantstheORIGINALpurchaser,atthepointofsale,thattheproductisingoodworking
order andisfreefromanydefect.
ANYwarrantyclaimmustbeaccompaniedbytheoriginalinvoice.
Theoriginalpurchaserisresponsible within 24hours of receiving the goods to carry out a physical
inspection and notify BMG Imports in writing if the goods do not comply with the description set out.
Thewarrantyperiodis12monthsfromdateof PURCHASE.
Thewarrantyisa“back to base“warranty.
Theequipmentmustbereturnedtothefactorywiththeoriginalinvoiceforanyrepairor
replacement.
Iftheequipmentwaspurchasedatadealer,merchantoragentofBMG Imports theclaimmustbedirected
to saidmerchant,dealeretc.
Thewarrantywillnotcoveranyofthefollowingcircumstancesinanyway.
·Incorrectinstallationoftheequipment.
·Incorrectwiringoftheequipment.
·Lightning,flooding,powersurge,fire,insectinfestationoranyformofabnormaluseofthe
equipment.
NOTE: thetransformerisnotguaranteedinanymanner,duetopowerfluctuations.
AnywarrantyclaimmustbeinspectedandtestedbyaBMG Importsagentbeforeanyfurther
claimisenteredinto.

·ItisrecommendedthatyourlocalElectricalContractorsAssociationiscontactedin ordertoobtain
thelegalwiringregulationspertainingtothearea.
·ElectricalShockmayoccurwhileinstallingthisequipment.
·Injuryordeathbyelectrocutionmayleadtolawsuitsagainsttheinstaller/homeowner.
·Ifyouintendtorun220V/ACdirectlyfromtheMainssupply(housesupply)tothetransformer, the
wiringshouldbedonebyaqualified/registeredelectrician.Thisisalegalrequirementand failure
todosomayleadtononcomplianceofpropertyorlawsuitsagainstthepropertyowner inthe
eventofanaccident.
·Itisalegalrequirementtorunallcablinginconduit.Thepowersupplymustberuninaseparate
conduittoANYothercables.
·Mainssupplymayonlyberuninaguardedcable.Undernocircumstancesmay220V/ACberun
usingCommunicationcable,RipcordorCabtyre.
·BMG Importswillnotbeheldliableforanyaccident/incidentresultingindamage,injuryordeath
ensuingfromtheinstallationoftheautomaticgatemotor.
·AlthoughtheSPRINT and CONDOoperatorshave builtincollisionsensing, substantialdamage
may stilloccur.Forthisreasonsafetybeamsshouldbeusedonall installations.
·Donotallowchildrentoplaynearorwithanygate,gatemotororremotecontrol.
·Itistheresponsibilityoftheinstallertoensurethatthegateisingoodworkingconditionbefore
automatingthegate.
·BMG Importswillnotbeheldresponsibleforanygatesbumpingtheendsstopswhenagateis
automatedonaslide.

TERMSANDDEFINITIONS
·Autoclose:allowsthegatetocloseautomaticallyafteraselectedtimeperiod.
·Multiusermode:thisisasettingusedintownhousesituationswheretherearemultipletriggers. This
settingwillavoidthemotorgettingmultipletriggersatthesametime.
·Pedestrianaccess:allowsonlypartialopeningofthegate
·Antiliftdevice:stopsthegatebeingliftedofftherail.
·Battery:thebatteryisusedtodrivethemotor.
·SafetyBeams:Thesereducetheriskofthegateclosingonavehicle.Beamsshouldalwaysbeused
whenautocloseisselected.
·Transformer:thetransformerreducesthemainspowerto16VAC.NOTE!Thecableto beusedfrom
thetransformertothemainPCboardmustbeaminimumof1.5mmcable.DONOTuse
communicationscable.
·Chargermodule:theonboardchargerreceives16VACfromthetransformerandthendeliversa
tricklechargetomaintain±13.8VDCchargetothebattery.
·MainPCboard:thisistheprintedcircuitboardthatcontainsalltheelectroniccomponentsthatoper
atethemotor. NOTE! AlwaysremovethepowerfromthePCboardbeforeconnectinganyoutput
wires.
·Remote/Transmitter:thisisusuallyahandheldproductwhichtransmitsaradiosignaltothe
receiver.
·Receiver:thereceivertriggersthemotorafterreceivingaradiosignalfromthetransmitter.
·Testbutton:thisisabuttononthemainPCboardthatcanbeusedtoactivatethemotor.Thisis
usuallyusedduringtheprogrammingofthemotor.
·Rack:thisisalengthoftoothedgearmountedonthegate.
·Piniongear:thisisthegearthatmesheswiththerackinordertodrivethegate.NOTE!Thisisa
serviceablepart.
·Foundationplate:thisisthesteelplatethatismountedtoaconcreteplinthintheground.Themotor is
mountedontothefoundationplateusingthethreemountingbolts.
·Thumb wheel:thisallowsthemotortobeputintoManualOverridemodesothatthegatecanbe
operatedmanuallybyhand.

SITEEVALUATION
Ensurethattherailiskeptclearofalldebris,
Mountthemotorabovethefloodlevelorafloodproofwallmustbebuiltinordertopreventwaterfrom
enteringthemotor
Thesiteshouldbeevaluatedbeforetheinstallationbegins.Thefollowingitemsshouldbechecked:
·Floodlevel:themotorshouldbeabovefloodleveltoavoidanydamagetothemotor.
·Therailmustbelevelandshouldbeabovegroundlevel,thiswillassistwithkeepingdebrisoutof
thepathofthewheels.Anydebrislyingontherailmaycausethemotortoovercurrent.
Therailshouldbeabovegroundlevel
Itisimportanttoensurethattherailisabovethegroundlevel,asthis
reducesthechanceofstonesandotherdebrisblockingthetrackand
jammingthewheelsofthegate.
Keepalltrees,bushesandothergrowth
clearofthegate.Failuretodothismaylead
tothegatejamming.

GATEEVALUATION
Itisextremelyimportanttoevaluatethegatethatistobeautomatedbeforeanyautomationisdone.The
followingpointsmustbechecked.Allofthepointsmentionedbelowarecommoncausesofproblemsif
notchecked.
Ensurethattheendstopsaresecure.
Itisrecommendedthatsteelplates
ofaminimum70mmhighareusedas
stops.
Ensurethatthewheelsareturningfreely.
Itisrecommendedthat16mmroundbarisusedtoassist
withthesmoothoperationofthegate
Thegatemustnotmoveonitsownwhenleftinanypositiononthe
rail.D.A.C.Ewillnotbeheldresponsibleforanygatesbumping
theendsstopswhenagateisautomatedonaslide!
Ensurethatthegateislevel!
Rollersmustrollfreely.
Therollermountingcanbeusedasanantiliftdevice.
Allprecautionsmustbetakentoensurethat
thegatecannotrunfreeoftherollers.
Adevicecanbefabricatedandfittedto
preventthis.
Thegatemustnotbindinanywayon
thebracketwhenopeningorclosing.
Bindingcancauseafusetoblow.
Thecatchbracketcanalsobeused
asanantiliftdevice

Itisimportanttocheckthestartupforceofthegatebeforethemotorisinstalled.Placethegateinthefully
closedposition.Usingafishingscale,pullthegateopenandcheckthekilogramforcerequiredtostartthe
gaterolling.Thisisthestartupforce.
Atnostagewhilemovingthegatemustthereadingexceedtheforceshowninthetablebelow.

·Thetransformer must be pluggedinto a normalplugsocket inthehouse. 16 Volts AC is then run
directlyto thePC board16V ACconnection.The distance betweenthetransformer andthe motor
shouldnotexceed50meters.
·Thecableshouldberunina300mmdeeptrenchina waterproofconduit and must beterminated
insidethemotor.
·Theremustbenojoinsinthecableunderground.
