General safety instructions
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not
be made by children without supervision.
• The lawnmower should only be used as described in theinstruction manual.
• Remember that it is theuser who is ultimately responsible for any accidents or
hazards that cause possible injury to others and to property.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• The lawnmower should be connected to amains outlet protected by a30 mA RCD.
• Never use thelawnmower when you are tired, sick, under theinfluence of alcohol
or medicine.
Pre-work safety precautions
• Read theentire instruction manual carefully.
• Never let children or others use thelawnmower without having read theinstruction
manual. Checkfor any local regulations that may stipulate aminimum operating age.
• Never use thelawnmower in thepresence of bystanders, especially children or
animals.
• Always use appropriately designed footwear and long trousers. Neveruse
thelawnmower while barefoot or wearing open-toed sandals.
• Never wear loose-fitting clothing or clothes which have any loose hanging straps,
bands, etc.
• Always inspect thearea to be cut before mowing. Removeany objects from
themowing area that can be thrown by themower.
• Make sure that themower is completely assembled and that all parts are whole
and functioning normally before commencing work.
• Check that all cables are whole and undamaged. Checkthecondition of thefixed
mains cable leading from themains socket to themotor is whole and undamaged.
• Never use themower if any of its cables or connections is damaged.
• Make sure that all screws and bolts are properly tightened and that all safety
devices are in place before commencing work.

Operating safety precautions
• This mower is designed exclusively for mowing domestic lawns.
• Only use themower during daylight hours or under good lighting conditions.
• The lawnmower should only be connected to a230–240 V, 50 Hz mains outlet
protected by a30 mA RCD.
• Avoid cutting wetgrass.
• Always cut at aneasy pace. Donothurry.
• Be extra careful when cutting on slopes.
• Always cut across slopes. Neverup anddown.
• Always be extra careful when changing directions on aslope.
• Never cut on steep slopes.
• Always be extra careful when backing or pulling themower towards yourself.
• Always turn off themower and pull theplug from mains outlet whenever crossing
other surfaces, such as gravel, asphalt, etc.
• Never use themower if any part of thebody has been damaged. Neveruse
themower without having thecollector attached.
• Make sure that themower stands steady on all four wheels before starting.
Keephands and feet away from therotating blades at alltimes.
• Turn off themower and pull out theplug from thewall socket, whenever taking
apause fromwork.
• Turn off themower and pull out theplug from thewall socket, whenever emptying
thecollector, cleaning or carrying out any other type of maintenance.
• Turn off themower and pull out theplug from thewall socket, whenever theblades
strike any unidentified object. Alwaysinspect themower and its blades and repair
any damage before starting work.
• If any abnormal vibration or noise is detected, turn off themower and unplug it
immediately. Checktheblades, tighten any loose screws and repair any damage
before re-commencing work.
• Always be aware of thelocation and position of themains lead while cutting.
Makesure that themains lead does not come into contact with themower or its
rotating blades.

Assembly
Wheels
1. Screw thewheels onto themower in
thedesired cutting height position.
Thecutting height is regulated by wheel
position. Makesure that all thewheels are
mounted at thesame height and position.
1. Insert thebottom handle into
thechassis’ tube guides.
3. Line up thetop handle’s bolt holes to thebottom handle’s bolt holes and fasten
thetwo parts using thesupplied bolts and wingnuts.
2. Tighten thehubcaps by turning
them clockwise to fasten
thewheels securely.
2. Secure thebottom handle with
thesupplied screws.
Handle assembly

Controller and cable bracket
1. Press thecontrol bracket’s plugs into thetop handle’s insertion holes.
2. Close thebracket shut and fasten it
with thesupplied screws.
3. Fasten themotor cable to
thehandle using thesupplied clips.

Grass collector
1. Assemble thegrass collector by fitting thetwo halves together and ensuring that
thesnap lugs lock intoplace.
2. Lift thesafety flap and latch on
thecollector.
Operating instructions
• Note: Checkthat all cables and connections are whole and undamaged
beforeuse.
• The lawnmower should only be connected to anearthed 230–240 V, 50 Hz mains
outlet protected by a30 mA RCD.
• Only use extension leads approved for outdoor use.

Starting
1. Connect theextension lead to
themower’s mains lead socket and
run thelead through thehandle’s
strain-relief.
3. Clasp thestart/stop lever without
releasing thesafety cut-off button.
Themower should nowstart.
2. Hold down thesafety cut-off button.
4. Keep holding thehandle while
releasing thesafety cut-off switch
and you can begin mowing.
Stopping
Turn off themower by releasing thestart/stoplever.
