The maintenance and operation of a PV system requires
a sound technical knowledge. Therefore, any work on the
system may only be carried out by qualied and authorized
personnel. Make sure to read these assembly instructions
carefully before installing, commissioning or servicing the
system, and store these instructions in a well accessible
location. The guide is part of the product. It only applies to
the solar modules TF Plate Professional by Centrosolar
AG. Pay special attention to the information regarding safe
usage. Cetrosolar is not liable for damage resulting from
disregarding this guide.

Pleasenote:
Disregarding the instructions of this installation guide may
void any warranties, guaranties and product liabilities.
2 Sitepreparation
The TF Plate Professional modules are sensitive techni-
cal components, which must be handled with utmost care.
Pay special attention during transport or when putting into
interim storage on site and ensure a safe working environ-
ment.
Caution!
Enter TF Plate Professional only
withcorrespondingprotection!
Mechanical strain of the TF Plate Professional can lead to
damage of the photovoltaic cells. Therefore, stepping onto
the photovoltaic laminate is forbidden. If stepping onto the
laminate can not be avoided, use special overshoes and
protective mats or similar protective equipment, to avoid
scratching or damaging the laminate surface. Especially
stepping in between the high beading is only permissible
after proper load distribution, otherwise irreversible deec-
tions of the TF Plate Professional may occur.
Fig. 1: Stepping onto the TF Plate Professional can result in damage.
Caution!
Transportpalletsmayonlybeplaced
onsufcientlystableroofs!
TF Plate Professional is delivered on transport pallets
with considerable weight (approx. 1100 kg). A truck crane
should be used on site to hoist the pallets onto the roof.
Unpacking of TF Plate Professional takes place on the
roof. Prior to hoisting, check if the load capacity of the
roof meets the weight of the fully loaded pallets in the load
area. If in doubt consult a structural engineer.

After releasing the transport locks on the pallets, the mod-
ules on the roof must be protected against wind suction.
Keep suitable weight elements or belts handy on site.
3 Installationprerequisites
Checktheroofinclination:
To facilitate sufcient drainage from the modules, the roof
inclination must be at least 3°. The maximum authorized roof
inclination for the TF Plate Professional installation is 60°.
HowtousetheDC-Connectjunctionbox:
The wiring of the modules with each other, with the cor-
responding DC-Connect junction box, and/or with the in-
verter may only be accomplished using connection cables
with a diameter of at least 4 mm². With cable lengths of
more than 20 m, a cable diameter of at least 6 mm² is
recommended.
For electrical connection with the modules only use
original MC3 plugs by Multi-Contact or LC3 plugs by
Lumberg.
If more than three strings are to be connected to the
inverter in parallel, use a DC-Connect junction box to
eliminate excessive reverse electrical loads in case
of a failure.
Thin-layer modules are generally used for large sur-
faces. Due to the increasing probability of an indirect
lightning effect, we recommend the use of a surge
protector.
Ensurethatthemodulesaregroundedproperly:
In order to eliminate the risk of re or electric shock to the
highest extent, the PV module frames must be grounded
according to good professional practice. The company
carrying out the installation of the PV system is also re-
sponsible for the grounding of every individual module.
If an external lightning protection system or is already ex-
istent or planned, the PV system must be integrated into

the protection scheme against direct lightning strikes.
Country-specic regulations must be observed.
Due to the design of the TF Plate Professional it is not pos-
sible to provide the module with a xed marked grounding
point in advance. Fora professionalgroundingofthe
modulewerecommendthefollowingprocedure:
Establish grounding between two high beadings with an
appropriate grounding connector. We recommend Solklip
grounding connectors by Tyco Electronics. To secure the
grounding connector to the module, drill a hole through
the carrier plate of the TF Plate Professional at the desired
position.
Pleasenote:
It is strictly forbidden to direct articially concentrated sun-
light onto the module or panel, as this will damage the
module.

Distancebetweenhighbeadingandlining
The free distance between the high beadings of the trap-
ezoidal sheet metal and the lining of the TF Plate Profes-
sional must not exceed 330 mm. The minimum width of
the high beadings is 35 mm.
Use self-tapping screws to secure the TF Plate Profes-
sional on the trapezoidal sheet metal high beadings.
Position the TF Plate Professional module in such a way
that the long side of the module is aligned at a right angle
to the run of the trapezoidal metal sheet.
Distancebetweenthescrewjointpositions
The distance of the individual screw joints along the TF
Plate Professional module must not exceed 688 mm. Ex-
ample:

CalibratingtheTFPlateProfessional
Determine the starting position for the laying of the rst
module (zero point). Then determine the individual posi-
tions of the screws and butyl sealing strips.
Place the screws into the carrier plate so that they corre-
spond to the dashed line of the image. The distance to the
top and bottom edge is 13 mm (A and C). The center row
(B) is centered between the two laminates. This leads to a
distance of 421 mm to the outer rows.
Fig. 7
Transfer the markings for the fastening points and the out-
er distances onto the trapezoidal metal sheet to determine
the position of the butyl sealing strips.
Fig. 8
Accuratesealingwithbutylsealingstrips.
To guarantee optimum tightness, the butyl sealing strips
must be cut to 50 mm x 50 mm and bonded to the trap-
ezoidal metal sheet at all screwing positions (Figure 9). If
the TF Plate Professional is laid with adjoining long sides,
the joint area of the two modules must be sealed with a
butyl sealing strip with the following dimensions: 100 mm x
50 mm. This will seal the opposing screwing points.
Fig. 9
IndividualLaying
With individual laying the butyl sealing strips must be put
in such a way that they are centered between the screwing
positions. However, they must not project over the edge of
the module (Figure 10).
Fig. 10
In case the high beading distance is particularly small and
the screwing points of the mounting brackets (a) for the
cable duct would therefore be on a high beading, place an
additional butyl sealing strip (b) onto the trapezoidal metal
sheet at this position (Figure 11).

Installation Guide

WiringInformation:TFPlateProfessional
When wiring the TF Plate Professional module, please
note that there are two electrically independent laminates
applied to the carrier sheet metal. Structurally, it is one
inseparable unit. Electrically, however, the two laminates
are independent. Therefore, laminate A can be connected
to a different string or inverter than laminate B. Likewise,
both laminates can be connected in series to one string or
one inverter.
Please note that all design programs for inverters refer to
a laminate with a power of 144 W. For an electrical view it
is therefore necessary to consider the number of the lami-
nates (twice the number of modules) and not the number
of modules.
Mountingthecableduct
Apply an approx. 6 mm wide strip of MS polymer adhesive
with a 15 mm distance to the edge of the module carrier
plate. The adhesive strip should begin with an approx. dis-
tance of 25 mm to the long side of the module and should
have a length of 810 mm. One polymer adhesive cartridge
(290 ml) is sufcient for ten to twelve modules. Observe
the manufacturer's processing information of the MS poly-
mer adhesive.
Fig. 14
Position the base plate ush with the outer edge of the
module carrier plate and in the middle of the long sides.
The short side of the base plate faces the top. Apply even
pressure to the base plate until the polymer adhesive is
distributed with a thickness of approx. 1 mm. Slight push-
ing motions in all directions are helpful.
