Intended use
Your BLACK+DECKER multi-purpose tool has been
designed for a wide range of DIY applications.
Using the recip saw head (MTRS10), this tool is
intended for sawing wood, metal and plastics.
This tool is intended for consumer use only.

for jigsaws and reciprocating saws
u Hold power tool by insulated gripping sur-
faces when performing an operation where
the cutting accessory may contact hidden
wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory
contacting a “live” wire may make exposed
metal parts of the power tool “live” and could
give the operator an electric shock
u Use clamps or another practical way to se-
cure and support the workpiece to a stable
platform. Holding the work by hand or against
your body leaves it unstable and may lead to
loss of control.
u Keep hands away from cutting area. Never
reach underneath the work piece for any
reason. Do not insert ngers or thumb into the
vicinity of the reciprocating blade and blade
clamp. Do not stabilize the saw by gripping the
shoe.

u Keep blades sharp. Dull or damaged blades
may cause the saw to swerve or stall under
pressure. Always use the appropriate type of
saw blade for the workpiece material and type
of cut.
u When cutting pipe or conduit, make sure that
they are free from water, electrical wiring, etc.
u Do not touch the workpiece or the blade
immediately after operating the tool. They can
become very hot.
u Be aware of hidden hazards, before cutting into
walls, oors or ceilings, check for the location
of wiring and pipes.
u The blade will continue to move after releasing
the switch. Always switch the tool off and
wait for the saw blade to come to a complete
standstill before putting the tool down.

of dusts arising from cutting applica-
tions may endanger the health of the
operator and possible bystanders.
Wear a dust mask specically
designed for protection against dust
and fumes and ensure that persons
within or entering the work area are
also protected.
u The intended use is described in this instruc-
tion manual. The use of any accessory or
attachment or performance of any operation
with this tool other than those recommended
in this instruction manual may present a risk of
personal injury and/or damage to property.

Assembly
Warning! Before attempting any of the following
operations, remove the battery from the tool and
make sure that the saw blade has stopped. Used
saw blades may be hot.
Fitting the saw blade (g. A)
u Hold the tool away from the body
u Pull the blade clamp lever (12) up to release
the blade clamping mechanism.

u Insert the shank of the blade fully into the blade
clamp (11).
u Push the blade clamp lever (12) down to lock
the blade clamping mechanism.
Note: The blade can be installed with the teeth up
to assist in ush cutting
Removing the saw blade (g. A)
Warning! Burn hazard: Do not touch the blade
immediately after use. Contact with the blade may
result in personal injury.
u Pull the blade clamp lever (12) up to release
the blade clamping mechanism.
u Remove blade.
Use
Switching on and off
Note: Ensure the forward reverse slider (2) is not
in the locked position.
u To switch the tool on, press the variable speed
switch (1). The tool speed depends on how far
you press the switch.
u To switch the tool off, release the variable
speed switch (1).
Sawing
u Always hold the tool with both hands.
u Let the blade run freely for a few seconds
before starting the cut.
u Apply only a gentle pressure to the tool while
performing the cut.
u If possible, work with the shoe (13) pressed
against the workpiece. This will improve tool
control and reduce tool vibration, as well as
prevent the blade from being damaged.
Hints for optimum use
Sawing wood
u Clamp the workpiece securely and remove all
nails and metal objects.
u Holding the tool with both hands, work with the
shoe (13) pressed against the workpiece.
Sawing metal
Be aware that sawing metal takes much more time
than sawing wood.
u Use a saw blade suitable for sawing metal.
Use a ne-tooth saw blade for ferrous metals
and a coarser saw blade for non-ferrous met-
als.
u When cutting thin sheet metal, clamp a piece
of scrap wood to the back surface of the
workpiece and cut through this sandwich.

u Spread a lm of oil along the intended line of
cut.

u Fixieren Sie das Werkstück mit Zwingen
oder ähnlichen Hilfsmitteln auf einer stabi-
len Oberäche. Ein Werkstück, das mit der
Hand oder gegen den Körper gehalten wird, ist
unzureichend befestigt und kann leicht außer
Kontrolle geraten.
u Halten Sie Ihre Hände von der Schneidzone
fern. Greifen Sie niemals unter das Werkstück.
Bewegen Sie Ihre Finger nicht in die Nähe des
sich bewegenden Sägeblattes und dessen
Klemme. Versuchen Sie nicht, die Säge zu
stabilisieren, indem Sie diese am Sägeschuh
halten.
u Halten Sie die Sägeblätter scharf. Stumpfe
oder beschädigte Sägeblätter können dazu
führen, dass die Säge unter Druck blockiert
oder ausbricht. Verwenden Sie immer ein
für das jeweilige Werkstück und die Art des
Schnittes geeignetes Sägeblatt.
u Achten Sie beim Sägen von Rohren oder
Leitungen darauf, dass diese frei von Wasser,
Stromkabeln und Ähnlichem sind.
u Berühren Sie das Werkstück oder das Säge-
blatt nicht direkt nach dem Gebrauch. Beides
kann sehr heiß werden.
u Achten Sie auch auf nicht sichtbare Gefahren,
wenn Sie in Wände, Böden oder Decken
sägen. Prüfen Sie diese Stellen auf dahinterlie-
gende Kabel oder Rohre.
u Das Sägeblatt bewegt sich auch dann noch,
wenn Sie den Schalter losgelassen haben.
Schalten Sie das Gerät vor dem Ablegen stets
aus, und warten Sie, bis das Sägeblatt zum
Stillstand gekommen ist.
@Achtung! Die Berührung und das
Einatmen von Stäuben, die beim
Sägen von Materialien entstehen,
können beim Bediener und bei Um-
stehenden gesundheitliche Schäden
verursachen. Tragen Sie eine
speziell für den Schutz vor Staub und
Dämpfen vorgesehene Staubmaske,
und stellen Sie sicher, dass auch
andere Personen entsprechend
geschützt sind, die den Arbeitsplatz
betreten oder sich dort aufhalten.
u In dieser Anleitung ist die bestimmungs-
gemäße Verwendung beschrieben. Die Ver-
wendung von Zubehör oder Anbauteilen, die
nicht in dieser Anleitung empfohlen sind, sowie
die Bedienung des Geräts in Abweichung
von den in dieser Anleitung beschriebenen
Verfahren können zu Verletzungen und/oder
Sachschäden führen.

Geräte zur Verwendung mit diesem Werkzeugkopf
zur Verfügung.
Dieses Gerät verfügt über einige oder alle der
folgenden Merkmale:

Montage
Achtung! Entnehmen Sie vor Ausführung der
folgenden Schritte den Akku aus dem Gerät, und
vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Sägeblatt zum
Stillstand gekommen ist. Nach der Verwendung
kann das Sägeblatt heiß sein.
Einsetzen des Sägeblatts (Abb. A)
u Halten Sie das Gerät auf Abstand zum Körper.
u Ziehen Sie den Hebel der Sägeblattk-
lemme (12), um die Sägeblattklemme zu lösen.
u Setzen Sie den Schaft des Sägeblatts voll-
ständig in die Sägeblattklemme (11) ein.
u Drücken Sie den Hebel der Sägeblattk-
lemme (12) nach unten, um die Sägeblattk-
lemme zu verriegeln.
Hinweis: Das Sägeblatt kann mit den Sägezäh-
nen nach oben angebracht werden, um bündiges
Sägen zu ermöglichen.
Entfernen des Sägeblatts (Abb. A)
Achtung! Verbrennungsgefahr: Berühren Sie das
Sägeblatt nicht unmittelbar nach der Verwendung.
Kontakt mit dem Sägeblatt kann Verletzungen zur
Folge haben.
u Ziehen Sie den Hebel der Sägeblattk-
lemme (12), um die Sägeblattklemme zu lösen.
u Entfernen Sie das Sägeblatt.
Gebrauch
Ein- und Ausschalten
Hinweis: Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich der
Vor/Zurück-Schalter (2) nicht in der verriegelten
Stellung bendet.
u Um das Gerät einzuschalten, drücken Sie
den Ein-/Ausschalter mit Geschwindigkeitsre-
gler (1). Die Leistung des Geräts ist davon
abhängig, wie tief Sie den Schalter hinein-
drücken.
u Um das Gerät auszuschalten, lassen Sie den
Geschwindigkeitsregler (1) los.
