OR HEAR A HISSING
SOUND:
• Turn the ignition
knob on the cooker
to “OFF”, to stop
thegasowand
turn the unit off.
• Ventilate the area.
• Check for leaks
(see LEAK TEST)
• If odour or
sound persists,
“UNLOCK” the
cartridge lock
lever to the upward
position and
remove and isolate
the gas cartridge
and contact your
dealer or local gas
supplier imme-
diately.

1. Conrmthatyouhavetherightmodelforyourtypeofgas
supply.
2. Whenunpacking,makesurethatallofthepartsofthe
cookerareincluded.Assemblethepartsasshownin
(Fig. 7).
3. PerformtheLEAKTEST.
4. Positionproperlysee(Fig.8)
INSTALLING THE BUTANE CANISTER
Onlyuse220gButanecartridge
whichcomplieswithEN417.
1. Openthecartridgecover.
2. Makesureignitionknobisin
“OFF”positionandcartridge
leverisin“UNLOCK”position
(Fig.9).Iftheignitionknobis
notcompletelyin“OFF”
position,thecartridgecan-
notbeengagedinto“LOCK”
position.

3. Placethecartridgeintothecompartment.Alignthecartridge
properlybyinsertingthecartridgeguidetaboftheunitinto
thecartridgeslotontherimofthecanister.(Fig.10)
4. Lockinplacebypushingthe
cartridgeleverdownto“LOCK”
positionandthenclosethe
cartridgecover.(Fig.11)
5. Checkthatthecartridgeis
positionedproperly,andthe
cartridgeleverisinthe“LOCK”
position.
6. Youcannowturnonthe
unit.Turnthecontrolknob
anti-clockwiseuntilyouheara
‘Click’.Repeatifnecessary
afterwaiting20seconds.

Incorrectpositioningofthegascartridgewillcausetheburnerto
breakand/orleakwhichwillproducehissingsoundandasmell
ofgas.Inthiscase,pleasefollowthe“LeakTest”.

Theleaktestmustbecarriedoutinawell-ventilatedarea,free
fromanyamesorothersourcesofignition.
• Withthecartridgeinstalledin
thecooker,opentheignitor
knob.
• Brushtheconnections(cooker
tocartridge)withasolutionof
equalpartssoapandwater
(makesureit’sfoamy).
• Astreamofbubblesforming
indicatesagasleak.
(SeeFig.13)
• Ifbubblesappear,turnthe
ignitionknob“OFF”,(clock-
wise)andunlockthecartridge
locklevertotheupwardposi-
tionandremoveandisolate
thegascartridge.
• Re-installthegascartridge,
makingsurethecartridgeslot
ispointingupwardandretry
theleaktest.
• Ifyouareunsureorifyoucan-
notinstallthecartridgewithout
aleakoccurring,placethe
butanecartridgeoutsideina
cool,well-ventilatedareaand
contactAlvaon086 100 ALVA
(2582).
• Aleakbetweenthecooker
andcanistercanleadtoare,
whichisverydangerousand
canresultinextensiveinjuryor
evendeath.
USING YOUR BUTANE GAS COOKER
Howtoigniteyourbutanegascooker
Turntheignitionknobcounter-clockwiseuntilyouheara‘click’
sound.
• Iftheburnerdoesnotlight,repeattheignitionprocedure.
• Flaringmayoccurduringthewarmupperiodorifthe
applianceismovedduringuse.Thearingwillstopwithin
oneminuteorwhenitisnolongerbeingmoved.
