1 System Description
The entire system consists of instrument, docking station - available as access-
ory - and 3rd party color match software (not part of delivery).
A - Connect instrument with docking station
• Connect docking station with power supply (1).
• Place instrument in docking station (2).
• Docking station automatically charges the instrument.
• Connect docking station with PC via USB type B cable (3).
• Download and install 3rd party software (4).
• Turn instrument on by pressing the Operate button.
B - Connect instrument without docking station
• To charge the instrument use external power supply (1).
• Disconnect external power supply to free the USB port.
• Connect instrument with PC via USB type C cable (3).
• Download and install 3rd party color match software (4).
• Turn instrument on by pressing the Operate button.

Use finger or pen (in instrument) to click the icons.

3 Configuration Menu
Click on the Configuration icon in the main menu.

Use yellow scroll bar on the right side to scroll up and down.

Switch the audio signal after

• Counter for measured

Note: To perform just a reboot
press button Operate for 15
seconds.

Configure date and time in the
instrument.

4 Calibration and Check
Calibration on white
A calibration on white is necessary every 30 days. If white calibration is expired,
a red cross is displayed. Click on the icon.
1. Open snap closure and place instrument on white calibration tile.
2. Click on instrument icon or press button Operate.
3. Color and effect measurement on white tile is performed.
4. Same checks on green tile are performed, see below.
5. Confirm with checkmark in upper right corner.
After successful calibration and check the red cross turns into a green check-
mark.
Color check on green
A color check on green is recommended every 7 days. This interval is not ob-
served by the instrument and not indicated on the display. Click on the icon.
1. Open snap closure and place instrument on green color check tile.
2. Click on instrument icon or press button Operate.
3. Color and effect measurement on green tile is performed.
4. Confirm with checkmark in upper right corner.

5 Measurements Modes
Take readings without worklist
In this mode free measurements can be made and named.
1. Click on instrument icon and place unit on sample.
2. Press Operate or click on the instrument icon to take a reading.
3. Circles represent the four pins on the bottom:
– Green = Pressed.
– Red = Not pressed.
4. A minimum of three pins need to be pressed.
5. To cancel reading click on back arrow.
Number of readings per sample depends on instrument. Instrument must be lif-
ted between readings.
Input of sample identification
All readings are automatically saved for transfer to the PC.
Default name is “Sample” with an incrementing number.
1. To change default name, click on name field and the keyboard opens.
2. Select desired letters or numbers and confirm with the checkmark.
3. Use backspace arrow to delete input characters.

Take readings with worklist
In this mode a worklist can be downloaded from PC that includes predefined
sample names.
1. Click on instrument icon and a list showing the preloaded names appears.
2. Select appropriate sample by clicking on the arrow behind the name.
3. Press Operate or click on instrument icon to take a reading.
4. Circles represent the four pins on the bottom:
– Green = Pressed.
– Red = Not pressed.
5. A minimum of three pins need to be pressed.
6. To cancel measurement click on back arrow.
7. Instrument must be lifted between readings.
8. Sample is automatically stored and deleted from work list.
To perform a regular sample measurement select sample name on top of the
list and proceed as described under “Take readings without worklist”.
Use camera live preview
If the option Live View is active the image taken by the integrated camera is
shown in the display - instead of the instrument icon.
With the live preview readings on scratches can be avoided. The option can be
switched on / off in the Configuration menu.
