This signal word indicates a hazard with a high level of risk which, if not avoided, will

CAUTION!
This signal word indicates a hazard with a low level of risk which, if not avoided, could
result in minor or moderate injury.

operation.

Declaration of conformity
Products that feature this symbol meet the requirements of the EC
directives (see section ‘EU Declaration of conformity’)
Protective earth symbol (in protection class I)
Electrical appliances in protection class I are electrical appliances that
permanently have at least basic insulation and either have an appliance
plug with an earthing contact or a fixed connection to the protective
earth. Electrical appliances in protection class I can have parts with double
or reinforced insulation or parts that are operated with safety extra-low
voltage.
Indoor use
Devices with this symbol are only suitable for use indoors.
Proper use
This appliance is intended for grilling food. Do not use the
appliance outdoors. This appliance is designed for use in private
households and similar household applications, such as
−In kitchens, for staff in retail outlets, offices and other
commercial areas
−On agricultural estates
−By customers in hotels, motels and other accommodation
facilities
−In bed-and-breakfast establishments
The appliance is not designed for commercial or industrial use.

supplied or approved.

Risk of injury due to improper use.
− This appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older,
and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capacity, or with a lack of experience and/or knowledge, but
only with proper supervision, or if they have been told how
to use the appliance safely, and have understood the risks
involved if they use it improperly.
− Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
− Do not allow children to clean the appliance or perform
maintenance tasks on it unless they are aged 8years or older
and properly supervised.
− Do not allow children younger than 8 years old near the
appliance and its power cord.

Risk of choking and suffocation!
Risk of choking and suffocation through swallowing or inhaling
small parts or plastic wrap.
− Do not store any of the packaging material used (bags,
polystyrene, etc.) within the reach of children.
− Do not let children play with the packaging material.
General notes
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
There is a risk of electric shock or short circuit due to live parts.
− Only connect the appliance to a properly installed, earthed and
fused outlet. The power outlet must be easily accessible so you
can unplug the appliance from the mains quickly if necessary.
− Before using the appliance, check that the voltage information
on the appliance matches the local supply voltage.
− Switch off the power point and pull out the plug from the
earthed mains outlet after each use, before cleaning and
during periods when the appliance is left unattended.
− When disconnecting the product from the earthed mains
outlet, always pull on the plug rather than on the cable.
− Unwind the mains cable fully when using the appliance.
− Do not kink or crush the mains cable.
− Avoid the use of extension cables in order to prevent tripping.
− Do not allow the mains cable to come into contact with water or
other liquids.
− Make sure that the mains cable does not present a trip hazard.
Do not allow the mains cable to become trapped or squashed.

− Do not use if the appliance, mains cable or plug is visibly
damaged or if the appliance has been dropped.
− If the plug, mains cable or appliance is damaged, immediately
remove the plug from the earthed mains outlet.
− If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
− There are dangerous voltages inside the appliance. Never open
the housing or slide objects into the ventilation slots.
− To completely disconnect the appliance from the power supply,
the mains plug must be removed from the earthed mains
outlet.
− Appliances connected to the mains during a thunderstorm may
be damaged by power surges. For this reason, always unplug
the plug if there is a thunderstorm.
− To prevent risks, only have repairs to the appliance or mains
cable carried out by the Service Centre or by a qualified
specialist workshop. Improper repair work may result in
significant risks to the user.
− Do not place the appliance near to sinks and do not expose it to
water droplets or spray.
− If the appliance has been moved from a cold room to a warm
room, wait before connecting the mains plug to the power
supply. The resulting condensation may damage the appliance.
The appliance can be operated safely as soon as it has reached
room temperature.
− Do not use the appliance outdoors.
− Unplug the plug from the earthed mains outlet before cleaning
the appliance.
− Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

There is a risk of injury due to burning on hot surfaces.
The touchable surfaces on the appliance may become hot during
operation.
− Do not move the appliance while it is in use.
− Allow the appliance to cool completely before replacing or
removing the grill plates.
− Always take hold of the appliance by the handle when it is in
use. Use oven gloves to do so.
− Steam escapes during grilling. Do not reach into this steam.
− Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it.
WARNING!
Risk of fire!
Hot surfaces pose a risk of fire.
− Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or a
separate remote control system, such as a remote control
mains socket.
− Never leave the appliance unattended when the appliance is
in use.
− Do not allow the mains cable to come into contact with hot
objects or surfaces (e.g. cooker hob).
− Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip
over and fall.
− Ensure that the appliance does not come into contact with any
other objects during operation. Allow sufficient clearance in all
directions and above. Above all, do not set up the appliance
near easily flammable materials (curtains, drapes, paper, etc.).
There is a risk of fire.
− Do not cover the appliance.
