Getting Started
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Idenfy all the parts packaged in the carton
against the parts list. Remove all protecve materials and place parts on a non-abrasive sur-
face to avoid scratching. Please contact our customer service center (Monday-Friday 8:30AM-
5:00PM ET) at 1-866-902-9690.
Cauon
Read all instrucons before assembly. Failure to do so may result in faulty assembly and po-
tenal injury! Assemble product on a so, non-abrasive surface such as carpet or cardboard to
avoid damaging the item. Seek assistance to assemble bulky or heavy items. Aer nal align-
ments, make sure all bolts and nuts are securely ghtened with screw covers pressed in place.
Warning
- Read all instrucons before using the product.
- To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when a product is used near children.
- Know how to stop the product quickly. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls.
- Stay alert – watch what you are doing.
- Do not operate the product when fagued or under the inuence of alcohol, drugs, or medi-
caon.
- Keep operang area clear of other people.
- Do not overreach or stand on unstable support. Keep good foong and balance at all mes.

Safety Instructions
The purpose of safety symbols is to aract your aenon to possible dangers. The safety
symbols and the explanaons with them deserve your careful aenon and understanding.
The symbol warnings do not, by themselves, eliminate any danger. The instrucons and
warnings they give are no substutes for proper accident prevenon measures.
WARNING! Be sure to read and understand all safety instrucons in this manual,
including all safety alert symbols such as “DANGER,” ”WARNING,” and “CAUTION”
before using this tool. Failure to following all instrucons listed below may result
in electric shock, re, and/or serious personal injury.
SYMBOL MEANING
SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL! Indicates DANGER, WARNING, OR CAUTION.
May be used in conjuncon with other symbols or pictographs.
DANGER! Indicates an imminently hazardous situaon, which, if not avoided,
will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING! Indicates a potenally hazardous situaon, which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION! Indicates a potenally hazardous situaon, which, if not avoided,

WARNING! Read all safety warnings and instrucons!
Failure to follow the warnings and instrucons may result in electric shock, re and/or serious
injury. Save all warnings and instrucons for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
baery-operated (cordless) power tool.
WARNING! Risk of re and electric shock. Dry locaon use only. Do not expose
to rain. Risk of injury.
Work area safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluered or dark areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of amma-
ble liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks that may ignite the dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while operang a power tool. Distracons can cause
you to lose control.
Electrical safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges
and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet condions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power
tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entan-
gled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
5. When operang a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
6. If operang a power tool in a damp locaon is unavoidable, use a ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Use of a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operang a power tool.
Do not use the tool while red or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol, or medicaon. A
moment of inaenon while operang power tools may result in serious personal injury.
2. Use personal protecve equipment.
Always wear eye protecon. Protecve equipment, such as a dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protecon, used for appropriate condions, will reduce per-
sonal injuries.
3. Prevent unintenonal starng. Ensure that the switch is in the o-posion before connect-
ing to power source and/or baery pack, picking up, or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energizing power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
4. Remove any adjusng key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key
le aached to a rotang part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper foong and balance at all mes. This enables beer control
of the power tool in unexpected situaons.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
7. If devices are provided for the connecon of dust extracon and collecon facilies,
ensure that these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce
dust-related hazards.
Use and care of the power tools
1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your applicaon. The correct
power tool will do the job beer and more safely at the rate for which it was designed.
2. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and o. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the baery pack from the power tool
before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such pre-
venve safety measures reduce the risk of starng the power tool accidentally.
4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instrucons to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
5. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condion that may aect the power tool’s operaon.
If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poor-

ly maintained power tools.
6. Keep cung tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cung tools with sharp cung edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
7. Use the power tool, accessories, tool bits etc., in accordance with these instrucons, tak-
ing into account the working condions and the work to be performed. Use of the power
tool for operaons dierent from those intended could result in a hazardous situaon.
Baery tool use and care
1. Recharge only with the charger specied by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable
for one type of baery pack may create a risk of re when used with another baery pack.
2. Use power tools only with specically designated baery packs. Use of any other baery
packs may create a risk of injury and re.
3. When the baery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, such as paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connecon
from one terminal to another. Shorng the baery terminals together may cause burns or
a re.
4. Under abusive condions, liquid may be ejected from the baery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, ush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, also seek medical
help. Liquid ejected from the baery may cause irritaon or burns.
Service
1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person, using only idencal replace-
ment parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Specic safety rules for cordless drill/driver
1. Use only with the baeries and chargers specied by the manufacturer.
2. Hold power tools by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operaon where
the cung tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.
3. When working with the power tool, always hold it rmly with both hands and provide for
a secure stance. The power tool is guided more securely with both hands.
4. Keep the cord and charger from heat to prevent damage to the housing or internal parts.
5. Secure the workpiece. Clamping devices or a vise will hold the workpiece in place beer
than the hand.

6. Do not allow gasoline, oils, petroleum based products, etc. to come in contact with plasc
parts. These materials contain chemicals that can damage, weaken, or destroy plasc.
7. Always wait unl the machine has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The
tool insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the power tool.
8. Always set the direcon-of-rotaon switch to the center (locked) posion before per-
forming any kind of work on the machine (e.g., maintenance, tool change, etc.) and when
transporng and storing it.
Unintenonal acvaon of the On/O switch may result in personal injury.
9. Do not open the baery. There is risk of a short circuit.
10. Protect the baery from heat and re. There is risk of explosion.
11. Wear ear protectors when using the cordless drill/driver. Exposure to noise can cause
hearing loss.
12. Use protecve gloves when removing the bit from the tool, or rst allow the clamp to cool
down. The bit may be hot aer prolonged use.
13. Use protecve gloves when operang the tool. Protecve gloves can help to keep you
from being burnt and hurt.
14. Keep your hands away from the motor housing vents. Hot gas comes from the vents
during operaon.
15. Release the trigger immediately when a screw is ghtened to avoid breaking the screw.
16. For best results, your baery tool should be charged in a locaon where the temperature
is more than 41°F (5°C) but less than 122°F (50°C). Do not store outside or in vehicles.
DANGER! People with electronic devices, such as pacemakers, should consult
their physician(s) before using this product. Operaon of electrical equipment in
close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of the
pacemaker.
WARNING! Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and
other construcon acvies contain chemicals known to the state of California to
cause cancer, birth defects or other reproducve harm. Some examples of these
chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how oen you do this type of work. To re-
duce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well-venlated area, and work with approved
safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to lter out microscopic
parcles.

Grounding
WARNING! TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK AND DEATH
FROM INCORRECT GROUNDING WIRE CONNECTION:
Check with a qualied electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the Char-
ger. Do not use the Charger if the power cord or plug is damaged. If damaged,
have it repaired by a service facility before use. If the plug will not t the outlet,
have a proper outlet installed by a qualied electrician.
Double Insulated Tools: Tools with Two Prong Plugs
Outlets for 2-Prong Plug
1. Tools marked “Double Insulated” do not require grounding. They have a special double
insulaon system which sases OSHA requirements and complies with the applicable
standards of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., the Canadian Standard Associaon, and the
Naonal Electrical Code.
2. Double insulated tools may be used in either of the 120-volt outlets shown in the preced-
ing illustraon.

Extension Cords
Note: Extension cords must not be used with this item’s Charger.
