Charging the integrated battery
The device is operated via the integrated lithium battery. Charge the battery as follows:
1. Plug the micro B USB plug of the charging cable into the jack (1) of the device. Con-
nect the USB plug to a powered-on computer. The indicator lamp lights up red and
the battery charges.
2. When the battery is fully charged, the indicator light will go out (7).
3. RemovethechargercablefromthespeakerandPC.
CAUTION:
Never leave the unit unattended when it is charging.
NOTE:
• ThebatteryisonlychargedwhilethePCisswitchedon.
• Donotconnecttheplayerforalongperiodoftimetoalaptopcomputerdiscon-
nected from mains power Otherwise the laptop computer’s battery may be dis-
charged.
• Thechargingtimevariesaccordingtobatteryuse.
• Whenthesystemisnotusedforlongperiods,chargethebatteryatleastevery6to
12 weeks. The battery will also constantly discharge when switched off.
• Whenthebatteryisalmostempty,theindicatorlight(7)willashrapidly.
Location
Selectasuitablelocationfortheunit.Adry,even,non-slipsurfaceonwhichyoucaneasily
operate the unit is suitable.
Use
You have two ways to use the device: By cable or cordless via Bluetooth.
By cable
1. Connectthe3.5mmstereoRCAcabletoanexternalaudiosource.Ifrequired,usea
suitable adapter (not included).
2. InserttheotherendofthecableintotheAUXINjack(2)ontheunit.Theindicatorlight
(7) lights up.
3. Switch the speaker on by pressing the /button(6)forapprox.3seconds.
4. Controlthevolumeontheexternalaudiosource.

Cordless via Bluetooth
NOTE:
WhenanaudiocableisconnectedtotheAUXINjack(2),aconnectioncannotbeestab-
lished via Bluetooth.
Bluetooth involves a technology for wireless radio connection of devices over a short dis-
tance. Devices with Bluetooth standard are transmitting between 2.402 and 2.480 GHz in
the ISM band (Industrial, Scientific and Medical). Interferences can however be caused by
WLANs,networks,wirelesstelephones,ormicrowaveovens,forexample,whichoperatein
the same frequency band.
This device offers you the possibility to use a Bluetooth-enabled device. The functional
radiusislimitedtoapprox.15metresdependingonthesurroundingsandtheunitused.
IfyourplayingdevicesupportstheA2DPprole(Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and
has a music-player function, then you can also wirelessly transfer music to the device. The
A2DPproleinvolvesamultivendorBluetoothprole.Bystreaming,stereo-audiosignals
are wirelessly transferred between the playing device (source) and the receiving device. To
beabletooperatethesourcebyremotecontrol,theplayerneedstosupporttheAVRCP
profile (Audio Video Remote Control Profile).
Due to the different device manufacturers, models, and software versions, a full functional-
ity cannot be guaranteed.
• Logging on devices (Pairing)
Before you listen to music via the unit, you must pair the devices.
1. Ensure, that the Bluetooth function is activated in your player (e.g. mobile phone).
For this, refer to the operation manual of your player.
2. Switch the speaker on by pressing the /button(6)forapprox.3seconds.The
indicatorlight(7)ashesslowly.Thesystemisnowin“AutomaticConnection”
mode. To connect a new playback unit to the speaker, wait a few seconds. The
indicatorlight(7)willstarttoashrapidlyafterashorttime.Thedeviceisnowset
to the pairing mode.
3. Choose the Bluetooth menu in your player and register the device in your player.
Forthis,refertotheoperationmanualofyourplayer.Thedevice“BSS4826”will
show in your player as a selection.
4. Nowenterthepassword“0000”inyourplayer,dependingonthedevicemanufac-
turers, model, and software version.
Aftersuccessfulregistration,thecontrollight(7)willbelit.

NOTE:
• Dependingonthedevicemanufacturer,youneedtoperformtheregistration(PAIR-
ING) again to connect the devices.
• Inthecaseofproblemswiththepairingofaplaybackdevice,deactivatetheWiFi-/
and mobile data function in your playback device.
• TheBluetoothcompatibilitycannotbeensuredfordevices(e.g.mobilephones)get-
ting released in the future.
• Toensureanoptimalconnection,makesurethatthebatteryofyourplayeriscom-
pletely charged.
• Someofthemobilephonebrandshaveanenergy-savingmode.Deactivatethe
energy-saving mode as it can otherwise result in problems during the data transfer
through Bluetooth.
• Tobeabletotransferaudiodata,Bluetoothneedstostayactivatedinyourplayer.
Observe the operation manual of your player.
• Ifamobilephoneonwhichyouareplayingmusicreceivesacall,themusicwillbein-
terrupted. Press the /button (6), to accept the call. The sound is replayed by the
loudspeakers. Speak into the microphone on the device or transfer the conversation
to your mobile phone. To do this, observe the overlay in the display of the mobile
phone.Afteryouhaveendedthecall,thedevicesareconnectedtoeachotheragain
and playback continues.
Operation
/ On/Off (6)
• Switchthespeakeronbypressingthe /button(6)forapprox.3seconds.The
control light (7) will start to blink.
NOTE: Automatic connection
If supported by your player (e.g. mobile phone), the devices will be connected auto-
matically. The prerequisite for this is:
• Thedeviceswerealreadyconnectedwitheachother.
• Bluetoothisactivatedinyourplayer.
• Keepthe /button (6) pressed for about 2 seconds to turn off the loudspeakers
again. The units are disconnected.
NOTE:
To save the battery, switch off the speaker when not in use.

NOTE:
Depending on the device manufacturers, models, and software versions you need to
start the music playback in your player.
Adjust Volume (8/9)
Press the (9) and (8) buttons to set the desired volume.
NOTE:
The volume on the playback device may not be set too low and not too high either. It
could otherwise result in background noises.
Accepting / Ending call
• Pressthe /(6), to accept an incoming call.
• Toendthecall,pressthebuttonagain.
NOTE:
Duringanincomingphonecall,themusicplaybackwillstop.Afterendingthephone
call, the track will continue to play.
Reject call
Keep the /button (6) pressed to reject an incoming call.
NOTE:
Your mobile phone must support this function.
Maintenance and Cleaning
CAUTION: Neverimmersetheunitinwater!
• Therearenopartsinsidethedevicewhichcanbemaintainedbytheuser.
• Cleanthespeakerwithaslightlydampclothwithoutcleaningagent.
