1. Introduction
Welcome to the world of full HF remote controlling of show light!
TheADBHFremotecontrolsystemHFRemotesystemallowsyoutoremotecontrolany
ADB VISION 10 desk from wherever you are in your show venue: on stage, in the
auditorium, during the rigging on ladders, trusses etc.! This very compact and light
weight hand-held remote control unit offers you all the comfort to remote operate the
most important functions on your lighting desk:
•selecting individual lighting channels
•selecting pre-recorded memories and groups of channels
•operate playback submaster 1
•switching all channel sources off (Black-Out)
•re-playing pre-recorded macros
A user friendly software menu helps you to adjust and personalise specific operating
parameters
•password
•display back-lit on/off
•key operating mode (direct / command line)
•operation room id number

A back-lit 4 x 16 character display on the hand-held terminal informs you about the
introduced key sequences in order to keep control over operations that can be
performed with 25 keys and over 40 different desk operate functions - and this during
an operating period of up to 12 hours with one battery charge cycle!
The GSM size hand-held system is very easy to handle and allows fast and intuitive
access to a huge variety of key desk functions to allow you to work efficiently on your
lightingshow.Afteraquickstarttourthatbrieflydescribeshowfasttoaccessthebasic
lighting functions, you will find in the following chapters how to access the whole range
of desk command functions and how to personalise the system to your specific needs.
Technical data and a trouble shooting summary should help you to safely install the
system.

4.1.2. Installation with one HF Receiver
The point-to-point communication with one hand-held sender and one receiver is very
straight forward: just plug in the receiver’s RS232 data cable in VISION 10’s serial
communication port and connect the external power supply unit to the receiver’s
SUB-D connector. Power supply will be distributed over the cable from the serial line
connector to the HF receiver.

4.1.3. Installation with more than one HF Receiver
This configuration permits to extend the operating range to more than 50-80 meters by
interconnectingupto4 HF receivers.Fortechnicalcommunication reasons, aseparate

4.2. Software
The HF remote control system does not need a special and complicated configuration.
All you need to run the system on the control desk is
•adesk software version ≥2.62
•the remote control option (Infra Red) checked ( = ON) in the menu
CONFIGURATION, PERIPHERALS
Ifnothingelseis specified, yoursystemautomaticallyby the defaultfactorysettingsrunson
-RS232 serial communication port 1(normally located besides the floppy drive)
-Room ID 1 (see also: further explanations below)
-Product ID 1 (see also: further explanations below)
If these settings shall be changed on your control desk system, create a DOS file
hf.cfg in the path c:\vision10\
containing the following parameter settings:
Example: system connected to 2nd serial communication port, room number 2
and product identification number 1 (VISION 10)
ComPort= 2
RoomId = 2
ProductId= 2
The parameters
ComPort can contain the values 1 or 2
RoomId can contain 1 - 16
ProductId can contain 1 - 16
To obtain further information concerning the parameters ROOMID and PRODUCTID,
see in chapter MENU in the following.
